Thanks for the video! Did this on my truck. Recommend using wago inline connectors instead of using a heat gun near the headliner. Only thing is splice a little higher up from the connector as it needs room for the 90 degree bend to plug back in. Where I spliced, it barely made the bend with the inline connectors in place. Also, middle wire of Kia/Gentech connector to yellow, white/black to purple, and opposite black to black ground. You can also tell the ground because it is aluminum wire not copper like the other two. Hope this helps!

Excellent … thanks for the clarification on the wiring colors. This helps tremendously. As I understand it, homelink requires 12v constant power.

I bought the 10 year battery Toyota Corolla homelink mirror. 10 minutes to install. I love it - no wiring required. Just not auto dimming.

The Toyota one also looks like shit though. You gotta admit it's goofy looking with less features but it's the Safe option for butterfingers that don't want a medium skill task

Good video! But next time please upload it in landscape mode. It’s hard to watch in such a small area.

The screw that attaches the mirror to the bracket is a Torx T-20 if you don't want to use an allen key.

Good video, I also ordered one of the from Kia World parts, paid for it and was expecting it when suddenly received an email that that P/N was discontinued and they would refund my money. I guess it was too cheap and so they now sell another one for over $100.

I can’t use the purple wire, it is connected to the dash lights so when I dim the dash lights I lose voltage.

I believe you stated yellow Maverick wire goes to black Mirror wire. Could you please clarify if black Maverick wire goes to black Mirror wire, and if purple Maverick wire goes to what color Mirror wire? thank you, Jerry

Is there an updated version of this mirror available? If so, does anyone know the part number? When I called Kia they said A7062-ADUP1 has been discontinued and when I tried purchasing through 3rd party they took my money, then refunded saying they could no longer get the part.

I tried this with 2 Gentex mirrors on my Maverick Lariat and it worked great in the daytime, but as soon as light hit it at night the compass went spaz and the mirror did not auto dim. It worked fine at night if there were no lights shining on it. Turning on the dome lights made glitch as well. I'm not sure but I think the purple wire is variable voltage connected the BCM. Has anyone else had this problem with this installation? Update: I connected the mirrors' power and accessory power to a direct 12v power source and it worked perfectly. With that said, many of these come with and installation cord that is long enough to go to your fuse block. Use it and a couple of fuse taps. Problem solved.

Wow, Rick Case Kia in Duluth, GA. I gave them a call, the parts guy asked me where I got that part number. I politely told him by searching online. He asked for the last 4-6 digits of my VIN. I told him this was not for a Kia. He got smart and told me he would not sell me a part without a VIN. I told him I see so many places online where I can just order right now but I wanted to give them my business instead. He rudely said, not without a partial VIN number and hung up on me. I immediately finished up my credit card info online and it'll be here on the 19th. Shipping costs about 6 bucks but it's an inexpensive part and worth the upgrade. The guy was pissed.... Go figure.

I have also been burnt by Prick Case.

I don't think Kia sells this mirror any more, unfortunately. I was fortunate enough to get one before they stopped selling them.

They do, I just got one. It is shipped and in transit from west coast to east.

Can you help me out? I just installed the mirror and when I start the truck, the compass flashes twice and goes dark. It does not come back on. Thanks!

Don’t know. You may want to recheck wiring connections to make sure they are correct. I think it should show C until calibrated. The instructions show how to do that.

What about with an xlt with no cp360

Don't believe that matters - see www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/cheap-auto-dimming-homelink-mirror.8346/ for lots of details done by many Maverick owners on a variety of models. The thread is pretty long but worth the time to review if you are interested in moving forward with this mod. I love mine - probably the best thing I have done to my Mav.

Definitely worth it for $45 you get an auto-dimming compass mirror with 3 HomeLink buttons (and you can pay a dealer or the neighbor's kid to install it).
