My maverick came without liner so I bought a bed liner wich works like an all weather floor mat, got the bed cover, center console organizer, maverick letter and struts for the hood. I'm changing the FX4 stickers to black also. I'm loving my little one.

I have the hood struts, tailgate strut, bug deflector, cheap mud flaps, all weather floor liners, tailgate letters, passenger side toolbox(used my ford points and paid $10) also replaced soft tonneau cover with hard low profile tonneau cover. I also have some custom rear bed decals.. I have the FE in CG.

I ended up cancelling the 3rd Maverick but I do own 2. My latest upgrade works perfect for my needs but may not be for other's. I begged for them and they were produced by Softopper canopy's x2. I removed the tonneau covers as they were very hard to lock when items are in my bed. I am in the pnw which rains a lot in the months not summer but they don't leak which is stellar, simple mud flaps x2 mavs. Next I'll install BFG ko2. One of Mavericks have (A) built 235/65/17 other has (B) built 225/65/17 wonder why they changed it. (B) is very lite on its feet don't like it as much as the (A) built. Also (B) interior is different on the temperature controls no digital readout on the dial. Both Lariat fx4, co360, lux2, sunroof, power slider, 2.0 AWD basically has every option. LOVE THEM Just my opinion.

I worked at a tire shop for 4 years. I can confirm, Ford lugs are the shittiest lug nuts. I would see swollen ones on cars that were less than 2 years old.

The big problem with the chrome capped lug nuts is not so much the deterioration of the look of them, but the fact that rust builds up over time between the chrome cap and the steel inner lug nut, causing the chrome cap to swell to the point where the lug wrench will no longer fit over the lug nut, making them impossible to remove, especially problematic if you have a flat tire on the road and you don't have access to numerous other slightly larger socket sizes that will enable you to get the lug nuts off. You are really stuck and even road service may not be able to help you.

  • @gjohnston6052

I agree with you about the Ford lug nuts, but by replacing 21 mm nuts with 22 mm nuts, you may have problems changing a flat if you don't bring your own wrench. One mm doesn't sound like much, but you may not be able to use the wrench that comes with the truck on those larger nuts.

As this is a very true statement. I usually bring a full set of sockets plus a breaker bar. I will be honest and will say i overlooked this because my last daily didnt even come with a spare or tire iron. PNW Maverick.. mine is fx4 500a though. Same as mine except the wheels. I have 1 mav currently with 2 more arriving Oct 22, built waiting on delivery. Same velocity Blue awd. I bought them for my swimming pool company in Redmond. My only issue is its my Maverick but my wife drives it because she can't reach into my Tacoma. So had to order more. Do like the center console idea. I'm waiting on the white TAG 3 door canopy. Or Softopper but they are very slow making one

If you're afraid of someone stealing anything removeable from your vehicle, you may want to just not put anything removable on your exterior. Also, you'll want to make your car blend in as much as possible as to not make it a target for theft. Keep a clean interior, no specialized bumper stickers, no custom wheels, etc.

148 lb.ft. for the lug nuts. Holy crap, I thought you were wrong but I searched it. Yup, you're right. That's insane for little truck like this. Ya, sure a 2500 I can see that or an RV but most cars are 75-100 lb.ft.

M14 studs call for that much torque. I have an XLT. Bought some steel XL wheels for my winter tires that came with lugnuts. Both those and the originals were able to be removed with a 13/16 socket. No problems doing two changeovers so far. Breaker bar and then hand torquing to that 147 ft/lbs.

@@v0n1b0 Ya, I can see that. Not the biggest deal/ deal breaker. Am actually surprised by that tho because if I didn't know any better or a tech didn't know any better. They would prolly torque it to 100lb.ft. and call it good. I'm glad I learned about it now, then later

Also do you know of a set of matching black locking lug nuts (4) that might work well? I have the Tremor 4wd package with the 17" wheels and wonder if they are similar to your wheels in build. Hitch covers are terrible. I wrenched on vehicles for years, every single vehicle that had a hitch and used one of these had issues with the inside of the receiver tube rotting out. Water gets in the receiver tube when it rains/snows and then gets blocked from flowing through, in snowy areas salty water gets in there and just sits and never gets washed out when washing the vehicle. Just stay away from them. Once the receiver tube rusts it swells and good luck getting anything in there when you need to tow.

  • @mechanicbuilt

Good advice though this hitch cover has a lot of slop so its not a flush hitch on the reciever and has foam pads and multiple holes to keep it tight.

I agree, Why add stickers to the tailgate just so they fray in a couple years? The organizer is just 3 layers of crap. The lug nuts are still looking good so why not replace them when they do screw up instead of buying cheap ones with the plan on buying better ones? Spending money just to be spending money I guess
