Ford GT40 Mk1s Racing on Track: Start, Warm Up, Accelerations & V8 Sound!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Here's a compilation fully focused on the legendary Ford GT40 Mk1. I recorded the various cars you see in this video during some historic racing weekends by Peter Auto (Dix Mille Tours at Circuit Paul Ricard, Monza Historic at Monza Circuit and Imola Classic at Imola circuit) during the last recent years. Whether they're all 100% original GT40 chassis or not, it's an absolute pleasure to be able to see many of these Ford being raced at historic events. I'm always amazed thinking those lines and sexy shapes are already over 50 years old.
Enjoy the V8 sounds!

Probably one of the most iconic/best sounding cars to ever race. Mr Shelby and his men knew how to make a damn fine automobile.

Didn't they slap this thing together in a matter of weeks? I know it lost the first le mans race when most were DNF but once they ironed out all of the problems they dominated and embarrassed Ferrari lol

@@spamcan9208 I believe you're thinking of the Cobra Daytona Coupe which went from a drawing on the shop floor to completed racer in 90 days. All MKl and MKll GT40s were DNF in '64 and '65.
Everything about this car is just right... It has the looks. It looks mean. It has the sounds to accompany it, and most importantly, it was successful

One of the few vintage GT's I've seen and heard, up close in real life. What a shape and what a sound!!
I can't believe this car was designed in the 1960s, the gt40s design is timeless, gorgeous, and modern! It still looks Beautiful 50+ years later! One of the best looking race cars of all time!❤

I will admit, I love a car with a loose back-end. Especially if it dances to my tune
Downright magical, one of the all time greats.

The wide body with the fat fenders and giant tires looks better. The red one does sound amazing

Sgt 40 tiene mucho power muchos caballos de fuerza❤🎉😮😅
Whenever I see a GT40 in a video, I can always see how it drives good, but a bit slipery on corner exit for example. But that car was a pinacle in it's time. This got me thinking, if this car by the look of it was still a beast to drive, then how bad the previous generation of racing cars were?
wow...

The only thing that I would have in these cars that wouldn’t be old school would be a modern fuel pump
😂 @ 0:21 who yeeted that water bottle under the car? Older cars have this raw sound, even at idle. I don't know why though. I wish I could explain the difference in sound I'm hearing better.

@@TTURBOVOLVO the big cams are definitely one aspect but there's something else that makes them sound more mechanical. I'll have to go listen to a bunch of V8 engines throughout the decades and maybe I can come up with a better description. Although I'm too lazy to do that any time soon lol.
@spamcan9208

@@udontknowme1654 even old cars had mufflers and people will strait pipe new cars so I don't think it's that. I guess I can't fully rule it out either. Yamaha engineers might know, they specialize in automotive sound.

It's interesting how much different and more powerful the sound of a Cobra Daytona Coupe is over the GT40 MKl. They essentially have pretty much the same engine - 289 cu. in. in the Daytona and bored out to 302 cu. in. in the MKl, with both sporting 4 - twin choke Weber carbs. The Daytona's exhaust headers and side pipes made the difference in sound. The Daytona was actually faster than the early GT40 MKl cars!
Primo! 👈👏
What engine is in the dark-colored one?
@Loulovesspeed
3 жыл бұрын
All GT40 MKl cars were powered by 289 and 302 cu. in. engines. No 427 engines - those were in the MKll cars.
