Closing the FOCUS CC roof manually ( ie when roof is stowed in boot but will not come out on switch command )
6mm allen key needed
Note - this is a job for two people ( or even three - two to do the work and the third to read out the instructions)
• Open boot - shine torch up and through rear window ( which is now horizontal) and locate blanking cap near front edge of roof panel : reach in between roof panel and rear window and remove cap. Insert 6mm Allen key into cavity - turn approx. 180 degrees clockwise - commentary not clear at this point and footage is clipped : it appears to show “clockwise “from the point of view of somebody underneath the Allen key )
• At each side of boot - just in front of rear light cluster - pop out carpet retaining clip…pull back carpet and rubber seal to reveal cables
• Using looped end pull these back until resistance felt - boot lid is now disengaged
• Lift boot up and back
• Life roof and rear window out of boot and move towards front of car NB - keep fingers away from joins in roof - hold it by front edge only.
• Close roof - push down onto top edge of windscreen assembly
• Put boot lid back in place - ensure conical locating pins are seated in and through bracket(s) - near corners of rear window
• Follow cables behind side carpet towards front of car until you reach levers - move these forward to lock boot in place ( cables will be pulled back in behind side carpet by this action)
• Refit carpet clip and rubber seal at boot edge
• Insert Allen key and turn anti-clockwise to lock roof in place

Thank you very much for sharing that! I wish I had known about it last summer when my roof stopped closing. At least I now know what to do if there's an issue ever again.
Works great! But why after close the windows dsnt go up!?😢

I’m facing the same thing. I managed to bring the roof down and windows down; now i can’t bring it up 😢 Did you manage to figure out, by any chance?
can i manually open my roof like this also ?

@@livemusiccy1469 I will say putting it down was easy but putting it back up make sure you have an extension tube on the Allen key for the roof as it was quite the reach

@@justinrichards743 I had also tried it an hour ago.It went well however when the cabrio is open it gives an error. Did yours gave on too or is there any ideas how to erase the error

@@livemusiccy1469 mine didnt have an error but did you try pressing the button to put the roof down once it was down ? as it locked it in place and said the roof was fully down when i done that

I managed to bring the roof down and windows down; now i can’t bring the windows up 😢 Any idea on how to fix this?
a child could have designed a more friendly driver / roof emergency operation system - this is worse than a basic kit car!!! The two wing mounted linkages could have need sited better and combined + coupled to a crank lever center rear below rubber trim (then works both ways, none of the 'stick hands in hidden works, yank and prey' rubbish) As for access to forward latch with roof folded.......you cannot be serious Ford! - Again, a crank pointing forward from roof header, accessed via sitting in back of car would be infinitely more convenient... As for that ludicrous balancing act with the boot....Unless its carbon, thats just plain madness.. Doesnt exactly inspire u with confidence re automated system, if the emergency manual stuff is designed by a child....
woman dont get directions,clockwise is not anti clockwise.being pedantic (and taking the piss)this is helpfull,ta much.

Really weird to give wrong directions in instruction vid....But it is explained in discription. At least there is a way.
