    Very nice 👍 must be hard one to be honest, I had one this week vw Passat with 5v sensor reference missing, found the ECU had green crusty I tired to open ECU for water but couldn't find much anyway ECU ordered 🙊🙊 thanks for the video

    Yes, on this one is unable to prove the issue. I had good power & grounds so to be honest I took a shot in the dark with the ECU. But I wanted to show what was involved in the ECU kit for anyone unable to program the ECU. Thanks for your comments, Peter @ Kennedy’s garage 👍 And good luck with the Passat

    Had this fault a couple of times now on the focus, was the immobiliser kicking in because the cluster as dry solder joints on the plug itself.

    There's a common issue with the instrument cluster on them. Lad down in Watergrasshill fixes them

    That is correct, KC systems. The garage before us sent the cluster to the to be checked, they resoldered all contacts also but to no avail. That garage then gave up. They are good guys to deal with though 👍

    I have a problem with my MK2 Ford Focus 1.6 2008. So far I’ve put a new EGR VALVE, MAF SENSOR, and CLUSTER has been resoldered…my car when driving will sometimes lose power and the traction control will flash repeatedly then after like a minute, the car will have this rush of power and speed up… when I come to a stop the car will completely die then not start, then I have to get out and disconnect the battery wait 10 seconds, reconnect and It’ll start. Sometimes coming out to its first start of the day it won’t start so I have to disconnect the battery and then reconnect, and it’ll start. Plugged it in with my cheap ecu plug in called Viecar connect it to my phone and no fault codes show up… I did used your trick with tin foil, all light came on and wouldn’t turn over or even try to start… without the foil, It’ll keep trying to start with the key but like I said sometimes won’t start. If you or anyone have any ideas much appreciated thanks.. I’m debating just to scrap it 😂

    The problem could be in the engine ECU itself. I think my work colleague has a video on this same issue. I will copy and paste it if so 🙏

    Got the same problem with a Kuga 2.0 litre, diesel, if the car has been left standing it cranks and starts but immediately cuts out(wont rev either), it will do this possibly 10 times then it will run ok, no fault codes in any modules either

    @@kennedysgarage3281 Yes bud all sorted, the battery had been disconnected and EGR had lost its position, re learned EGR all good …. Cheers

    @@kennedysgarage3281 Crazy isnt it, took ages to figure it out, i had a peugeot boxer a few years back that did exactly the same thing and that was sorted with EGR re learn as well, thats what made me try it on the Kuga

    Same problem here : on a 2 liter vw diesel I start , runs, stalls with few seconds when trying to rev. When I take the exhaust off it runs. But : no problems with turbo, dpf and no fault code engine. Everything looks normal. It seems like the throttle closes to stall the engine . Btw : it has add blue and so far I am concerned no faults there as well.

    Could you be loosing fuel pressure??? It is the only thing that springs to mind or an egr related problem, that removing the exhaust somehow effects 🤔🤔🤔

    @@kennedysgarage3281 Nope, fuel pressure is good, also after starting . What we did was a basic compression test and it showed that the engine was worn out . But we still don’t get how it can start relative fast , starts and stops to start “never “ again . But done deal , customer trended in the car .

    Hi never herd of ecu kits...having starting problems with a old c max with communication problems..maybe a way forward

    An ECU kit as I call it, is a matched pair of items that make a complete immobiliser system. This will need no immobiliser programming. eBay is a good place to see what is involved in the kit on each different make & model. Hopefully this helps you out 👍

    Hi hope you don't mind me asking.... i'm having problems locating a fault with a 2007 ford fiesta 1.4 tdci lack of power the car has been looked at by a garage who can't find the fault The car will start first time but just low on power as if in limp mode no fault codes i have checked all the basics exhaust back pressure fine , checked a.s.v on inlet manifold and no restriction on inlet air filter etc, ran a separate fuel supply direct to the fuel pump still the same live data checks out on the road okay brake/ clutch switch, fuel pressure , maf + map , injector leak off test checked out okay when driving off in 1st the car almost stalls if you don't slip the clutch a little but will get up to 70 on motorway just feels like limp mode a fault code stored in abs co1095 pump circuit failure no esp on the car and someone cowboy has cut the egr pipe in two and crimped it off had a look on google seem this is a common problem but nobody has found the fault any advice would be greatly appreciated . cheers John

    Hey John, it does sound like you have a breathing issue, as in a restriction of air flow or just a turbo not boosting. A very simple check is to see if the turbo is being drawn into the boost position, turn key, start car then pull the small vacuum pipe off canister at turbo. I have seen the vacuum pipe to get squashed on a gearbox change. After that monitor boost pressure live data, key on engine off (1000 mbar) & again at 1, 2 & 3000 rpm see if it increases incrementally. I have also seen a throttle flap fail, it is mounted between the intercooler & rocker cover & over the alternator, in a hard plastic pipe.     @@kennedysgarage3281 Hi , found the problem boost pressure is fixed at 14psi engine on or switched off if i unplug the sensor boost pressure will go to 35 psi on live data bought a new map sensor still the same 3 pin sensor good ground , 5 v and 2v on third wire which will go to 6v if i unplug the sensor wired map sensor directly to the ecu and still the same any advice would be greatly appreciated.     @@johnbickle4654 That all sounds good, 14 psi is atmospheric pressure which is the 2 v you see on the wire that goes to 6v when unplugged (6v is a bias voltage from ecu ) leave the sensor plugged in and apply pressure to it while connected to the wiring harness and see if your live data (psi ) changes ???

    Does anyone had problem whith ford c max 1.6l diesel 2010 car start up and stop running gass pedal down to max and no acseleration at all. Shuld i start looking in fuell raill sistem frst or pdf?

    If you can get or have a scantool, first look at fault code & then look at your fuel pressure. It should be around 200bar cranking & then rise once it starts 🤔🤔 The fuel gauge unit in the fuel tank blocks & this very common. Well worth a look if the fuel pressure is low 👍👍

    Mate 2 yr ago mine was doing this changed the alternator pig of a job on this car fixed it a yr ago doing it again it was a melted ground under the battery tray fixed that 8 months after that doing it again it was the cam sensor this time 6 months ago in the summer it was doing it again it was the solder on the pins inside the cluster that were old 4 months ago doing it again it was the f-in egr valve blocked so I replaced that bugger me if it didn’t do it again yestaerday I got no idea what it could be this time it’s just engine fault with no codes my lights are very bright and when I turn the wheel the lights dim so u think it could be something to do with the alternator again or there has been play in the steering rack and I have been losing a little fluid over the last 10 yrs it is a ford it’s done 187,000 miles I really wanted to get it to 200,000 miles before I scraped it as I’ve done all the mechanics myself including soldering ( hard to believe I had never changed a wheel or owned a tool before I bought this car no I got a volt meter 4 jack stands 3 tone jack full set of sockets and wrenches and a collectinon of tourches lol please help me get her to 200,000

    Does it start & then stop again?? Put tin foil over the transponder part of the ignition key and take as to what changes ie. Do you now have a immobiliser light illuminated & faults for immobiliser stored 🤔

    I get limp mode while accelerating sometimes eaven stall completely. It starts right up but on acceleration problems again Code P0087 low fuel pressure After fuel filter change. Tried few filters, new presure system regulator. Cant solve it Help 😢

    Drop the fuel tank, remove the fuel pick up and gauge sender unit. It is blocked with a jelly like substance 😉👍👍

    @@kennedysgarage3281 Beacuse i have poor fuel mileage, weird idle sometimes and stalling problem, I am going to try changing fuel rail sensor. It's like 20e used. There is no any smoke coming from exhaust eaven when I floor it, so I don't think it's injections... :-( I doubt
