Ford Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost 125PS Acceleration 0-100 0-200 Top Speed Test

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Here we have the new Ford Fiesta (MK7) 1.00 Ecoboost Titanium from the model year 2014 facelift. We test the acceleration 0-100, 0-200 km/h and make a top speed test. We drive the version with 125PS. The top speed is specified to work at 196 Km/h. So this little car is fast. If you want better performance, you should take the Ford Fiesta ST 1.6l Ecoboost turbo and 182 hp.

Why? its one of the worst engines designs of the 21st century. It has a wet timing belt that sheds rubber particles into the oil causing the oil pump and strainer to jam up and starve the engine of oil causing them to blow up. Replacing the timing belt costs over £1000 too on an economy car. It also had issues with coolant too. Its an abysmal engine as is the 1.2 pure tech from PSA. The best small displacement turbo petrol engine is the 1.2T I4 engine from Toyota featured in the Toyota Auris and CHR, its smooth, economical, pulls incredibly well and is flawlessly reliable and has a timing chain.

@@dom3827 Ummm actually the early versions of the 1.0 ecoboost are notorious for having serious problems with headgasket failure and even the cyclinder head itself cracking they have fixed the issues but the early ones have had major issues sure some did just fine but others have blown at 30k miles due to the initial poor design, also these engines struggle to achieve 40mpg. Overall they are rubbish. I'll stick to the 1.2 engine Toyota offers which drives with all the benefits of a Diesel and a petrol with none of the negatives.

I love accelerating in mine, nice open clear road this thing shoots. Absolutely stunning deep engine sound for such a small engine, 3 cylinder turbo seriously has some power and a lovely experience to drive terrific performance for an affordable car. I've left some people behind in this car, don't be decieved by a 1 litre. The gearbox can stick sometimes though as first to second when accelerating hard can sometimes ruin the experience, but it's a family eco car, the nippy nature is a lovely bonus.

As long as the engine build quality is more more than the rated hp itl be fine. a shit 2 litre can die much faster than a great 1.0 i have seen it

yep and mountune tuning recon they can get the 1 litre turbo up to 177bhp. that's insane as the fiesta 1 litre turbo is pushing out more horsepower for that litre, than what a lambo is for 1 litre. and when your car is upgraded at mountune or your mountune ford dealer, it doesn't affect your vehicle warranty. has anyone had the 135 bhp upgrade from mountune and does it iron out any turbo lag problems. and most importantly is it worth the 400 quid the charge for it

PlaysGames11 I disagree, if you want the max performance you have to shift like he does, at 6500 rpm...because ok yes there is not much left after 6K rpm, BUT by shifting gears at 6k rpm you will fall too low on the next gear, which will lower the overall performance. The gear ratio is already very long (more than 100 kph in 2nd gear...), so to compensate you have to rev it to the red line.

+Tom Jardine It depends in what car do you have it. If it is a compact it might be underpowered (an engine with too little power also has high fuel consumption). If it is a small car you might want to work on your driving technique or you are just driving mainly in the city traffic where almost every car drinks alot.
