THIS VIDEO IS NOT FOR 2017 Model F150 4x4’s. It took me twice as long because I didn’t think I had to loosen the axle and swaybar, etc to get enough droop to remove and replace the strut assembly.

Probably the best video for the F150 (2010 in my case). Yes the lower bolts on the front shocks are ridiculous especially if you live anywhere with salt. I cracked those before taking the upper and lowers apart. Your reward for doing the front struts first? Doing the rear shocks in 10 minutes!

I have replaced shocks (rear only), brake pads & rotors and a lot of 2-3 wrench jobs. I am not a mechanic by any means, but I do a decent job. I prefer to do as much of my own work as possible so I know that it's done and can save some money in the process. With that said, I have never done a front end strut replacement ever, and am a little intimidated by it. You make it look easy, and I will be doing in the driveway as I do not have a lift, so...talk me into doing it myself. Haha! Any potential snags?

are all rancho struts this "quicklift/front leveling" type? Id like to keep my expeditions original stance. I think vehicles look ridiculous with a jacked up, nose in the air stance. Even though leveling struts are supposed to "Level" the vehicle, all the ones ive seen STILL look like the nose is in the air. It just looks totally uneven. I definitely dont want that. But i want Ranchero shocks because I hear good things about them.

Forgot to put weight on that strut before tightening that lower bolt. Gonna blow that new bushing out of that quick lift. Trust me, I’ve done it in the past and the only fix is to get a whole new strut assembly :(

They're definitely in the top 5, if not top 3. There are cheap and ultra expensive versions most top brand shocks. Be sure to buy the one suited for your needs. You can't go wrong with the RS9000's. I've put them on all of my one ton flatbed crew trucks. And we're installing the Quicklifts on my business partners F150 today. He wanted a leveling kit with new shocks. These are designed to actually improve the ride with a built in leveling kit, rather than a typical leveling kit that does nothing, if not lowers the side performance. And it's a complete strut. So zero fighting a new shock through the old spring. Its plug and play.

I think it really depends, if it's a big lift you might want new upper control arms and maybe sway bar links. If you do those, you might as well do new tie rods because those are cheap.

@@binbofat1855 ranchos are good man, unless you’re doing extreme off-roading, these will be good for most people. They’re certainly an upgrade over stock. The only drawback to this set in particular is that people have complained that the plastic adjustment knob breaks off with time and you can’t adjust them anymore, doesn’t bother me as I have them where I want them anyways
