Ford F-150 02 Sensor Diagnostics & Replacement (Complete Guide)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I go over the steps and procedures necessary to properly diagnose and replace an O2 sensor in a 2011 and newer Ford vehicle. this includes the 2.7, 3.5, 5.0 and 6.2l motors In this video we’re working on a 2015 Ford F150 with the 3.5 L eco-boost engine. We have two codes P0059 and P0151. Which indicate a faulty O2 sensor on the driver side. If you have P0131 that indicates a faulty exhaust O2 sensor on the passenger side. The diagnostic procedures I shown this video can properly diagnose both fault codes. It’s important to note that a lien condition can also cause these codes to appear so make sure to look at your Fuel trims before replacing O2 sensors. Below is a list of tools and parts I use during this video. If you have any questions or comments feel free to leave something in the comment section. Thank you for watching

Awesome video, but I absolutely could not get my old O2 sensor out (yes, I tried using 22m special tools). I even squirted break free liquid on it. So instead of potentially stripping the sensor I'm stuck taking my truck into the shop. You definitely made removing and replacing the sensor look easy I just wish it would had been that easy for me.

If you change the o2 sensor will the check engine light go off if that fixes the problem or do you need a scanner to reset the engine light? I got dealer to run codes of P0151 and P219B which relates to Bank 2 upper. Dealer can not fit me in for more diagnosis and repair until Mid December. I bought the Motorcraft DY-118 1X 8F9Z-9F472-H sensor and will try replacing it my self. Question is, when replaced will truck computer see difference and shut off engine notice light or do I need a scanner to shut off? Thanks.

I have a P0131 and P2195 code together. The 2195 code seems to be a generic O2 sensor problem whereas 131 is specifically bank 1 sensor 1. My scanner wont show me the desired fuel pressure to compare to the actual fuel pressure. The engine light comes on and off inconsistently. Any suggestions? Should i be good to go ahead and try replacing the sensor?

I know this video is old. I also know that it has a total of 4 sensors. 2 on each side of the exhaust. Are they all specific for example if I’m replacing all 4, are there 4 different ones or just 2 for each side? Like same part number for front driver and rear driver will be the same?
