Great step by step video. Before removing the old one I take off the fluid return line at the reservoir, add a foot or two of extra hose over the disconnected hose and get a bucket to put it in. Then suck out almost all of the old reservoir fluid with mom's turkey baster (or whatever) and refill it with fresh Mercon-V. Pull the fuel pump relay or fuse so the engine won't run, then using the starter only for a few seconds at a time let it pump old nasty brown fluid into the bucket. Refill the reservoir with new Mercon-V as you go. It is kind of like bleeding the brakes. Once the fluid runs nice and rosy red clean put it back together and move on to replacing the pump. Be sure to reconnect the fuel pump relay/ fuse when done or else you will be scratching your head when you want to go somewhere. PS: Since you already have the radiator out and bottom plastic shrouding off you can unscrew the cooling system block plug (upper left of the the oil filter at 11:50) and thermostat. Now you can really drain/ flush out the heavy grunge in the cooling system that you normally could not get out. You can't get to the other plug in the rear with the engine in the vehicle. Use a little thread sealant or anti-seize on the plug when screwing it back in. Not too tight, it is going into the aluminum block. Once all your work on the pump is done put in all new coolant following the procedure for burping the system as you go.

Awww dude you have such a food technique in explaining. I'm about ready to replace my power steering pump. I messed it up by trying to flush the old and accidentally ran it on dry foe just a few seconds while I was pouring the new fluid in. Actually don't know if that did it or like you said. Bad gaskets or O-rings. But thanx brother. I know it's going to a be a big job. But after watching your video. I'm pretty confident. Thanks again. Oh other thing! Right after changing the pump. Do I add more fluid? Or leave it at the same level

Thanks, and I hope your project goes smoothly. Just add fluid to the normal level in the reservoir, even if it goes dry for a few minutes it won't hurt it

Thanks a lot. Very helpful video. through Got a question, after installing the Power steering pump again. It seem like it is not doing its job. Not strange sound, oil level is ok. But it feels like oil is not circulating through the system or something. The steering wheel is hard to turn right and left. Any possible sugestion in what happened?

Hmm, could be a few things to check. Air in system, so turn wheel lock to lock about 10 times and see if it gets better. Bad new pump? It has happened before. Clogged pwr steering line, maybe if trash got in it while apart. Really worn out steering linkage, check for seized up parts of steering arms. Slipping belt not turning pump. Hopefully this helps but hard to say for sure remotely

Por qué no lavas antes la zona en donde trabajaras....yo lo hice sin quitar el radiador, claro que tuve que hacer una llave especial para quitar el tubo de presión

Perdon a mi Espanol. Creo es mejor limpiar antes, y no me gusto Este acete en todos partes. Fue mejor para camara sin radiator, pero no es necesario. Gracias amigo

I think this one came from the local parts store, but I've had good luck with Rockauto and even Amazon parts as long as they are a somewhat reputable name brand.

What a joke! There is 2 incredibly difficult bolts to deal with, 1 on P/S pump and 1 on A/C compressor and this tool bag cut his video to avoid how hard of a time he had getting them out..... Good job though buddy hope you feel like a real pro
