In todays video we diagnosed and fixed ABS light on a 2011 Ford Escape 3.0 FWD with Rear Drum Brakes. Its important to note that since this vehicle is Front Wheel Drive the Rear ABS ring is different than the front and what would be found the all wheel drive. Be sure you have a 2WD vehicle if you are looking into this repair. Due to many causes of this light this may not be the fix for you. But you can easily inspect this and see if this is your problem. My guess is this issue is going to continue to be more prominent on the east coast as we battle rust on the daily.
Upon scanning the car we found code C1236-20 which indicates a Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Input Signal Missing. I immediately did a visual inspection of the Rear Left and didn't see any tone ring. Once I compared it to the passenger side it was clear the Tone ring had seperated and was no longer functioning. It was difficult to find the part but once we did we were able to get this swapped out in about 30 minutes. All the details are in the video and below.

1/2 Impact (air) - A Break bar may suffice but isn't ideal

Torque Wrench that can torque to 214 ft/lbs
PB Blaster (let it soak a bit if rusty)

All in All this is an easy job and can be done by anyone. If you find a part provider cheaper than Ford please comment below. I gave up and went with the ford part.
