Ford Econoline E-250 Polyurethane Stabilizer Bar Bushing Replacement Method

Utilize bolt, nut, and washers as a makeshift universal press. Utilize 2” or larger washers for back side. I would have used larger washers for the back if they were available.
This method allows them to be able easily installed in place.

great technique, however, to further aid in a quicker insertion, add one more technique; just use a strong pipe clamp to compress bushing at insertion end before bolt and nut are tightened. That way you avoid jabbing bushing with screwdriver after it has been somewhat compressed = expanded. . . Jory, you have truly saved a lot of people time and frustration. Be sure to use the correct bushing size/color. Do not remove the old metal sleeve and remove pipe clamp from bushing after insertion clearly begins, imo

I could be wrong but i think i am correct but I'm pretty sure when inserting those poly rubber bushings, you are suppose to leave the old steel sleeve installed and only remove the old rubber bushing then slip the red bushing in place.

For some poly bushings, like control arm, it may be required to leave the shell installed. In this case, Energy calls for the shell to be removed (and the OEM she'll is too long to accommodate the bushing size anyways). Source: static.summitracing.com/global/images/instructions/ENS-17128.pdf

To comment on leaving the old sleeve in, I'm not sure if that is correct but what I am sure of is that I removed mine and replaced it with that style of bushing and used that exact technique as used on this video and within a week it had broken up and fallen out so my testimony is those kind of bushings are worthless and frankly a waste of money

Remove the metal sleeve the busing is supposed to have a metal sleeve around it. And the bushing should be attached to the sleeve this is not the correct way.

The outer metal shell is only present on rubber OE style bushings for ease of installation at the factory. It serves no purpose in this application. If you look at the bushing, there is a lip on the front and back, meant to hold it in place on the axle. You have not done this job before because you would know that the metal shells with OE style would not even fit this design.
