I never heard of this channel until I watched the Pull-A-Part challenge but I've been a subscriber ever since. "A lot of content" is an understatement. This is a great channel concept where more than one creator gets to contribute. Genius.

wyattoneable we are stronger as a group! Glad to see someone recognize that. If each of us had our own channel it wouldn't be the same variety that's for sure
Years ago I had a machine shop charge me more to press some bearings than the price of a cheap press. Wish I seen this back then! Keep up the great work guys!
Thanks Nate. I've used this technique for years, it works for most axle bearings. Cool short and to the point video, thanks!
I had heard of your from MORR but never looked at vids until I started working on my bearings and stumbled here. Thanks!!
Quick, simple, and to the point! Thanks for the info Nate!
Perfect video. Straight into it straight to the point and provided all necessary information in a very timely manner thank you! Subscribed and will be watching more and my build progresses
Thanks for showing us how to do this.I was going to try and change over to the sealed type with the seal inside and sealed brn, but you made this pretty easy ,I think I will keep the tapered type now. Thanks ,Doug

David Ferrell thanks brother I appreciate it
Another solid video. Thumbs up. Watched the entire episode and I don't have an 8.8 in my Jeep. Just enjoy this channel.
Short, and simple, very nice.

Travis Curtis thanks man!
Brings me to ford axles 101 tech school 1979. Our powertrain instructor showed us a pressed on locking collar versus a heated and dropped on locking collar. We could slide the pressed on off the shaft fairly easy but couldn't get the heated and dropped on one off without cutting it off like you did. He then asked us, "Which one would you trust on your vehicle?"
BAAAAM! That's that folks. nice Nate simple and done
Awesome quick to the point and very helpful!
Straight to the point I wish if I could once work with u 1 day Mr Journeyman
2nd video ive sever seen..im not jeep lover but you do good work and have good points for working on parts.
Very nice video, you make it look so easy , nice tips
Perfect job. Correct procedures for the job.
Top man, straight to the point, well explained without blowing wind up your own or our asses. Instant sub and bell from me. Thanks muchly from NZ
Great tutorial, thank you!
wow you make it look soooo easy
If you put the bearing in the oven at 350 till warm it will just slip on. You don’t take a chance messing anything up and you can still adjust if needed.
And that’s one of the many reasons I ditched my Dana 35 out of my YJ and went with a Ford 8.8! I can change bearings with a screw driver and a hammer! 🔨
This process also works for the Jeep JK rear axle shafts. We've just got an additional piece of hardware on there along with a tone ring.
Here's a like for another great video! Keep them coming..

Rich Lynch thanks! Many more on the way
What happened with the original tapered bearing race that was in the axle tube? Removed?
Sweet that was awesome and somewhat easy thanks

No problem 👍
If you don't have a press, a piece of pipe 6" longer than the axle length and big enough for the axle to fit inside but the same size as the collar, put it all together and slide hammer it altogether it.
You’re bringing some good content Nate
Thanks brother Hezekiah I thought the Amish weren’t supposed to be filmed. Na just kidding, good vid. as usual keep it up.
Awesome sharing sir love from Pakistan
Great video, thanks for sharing. Do you have any videos on kingpin installation on a 81 ford f100 Custom? Tkx again
Looks like a few more trees have been added to that left arm since you started, since its jeep related maybe throw a view around on that piece in a future episode once its finished
I want to ask you if it fits the seale Wrangler 2020 JL?
Yup, gotta do mine soon, I was hoping it was just the inner seal...but the rig is over 40 yrs old...lol...I should know better...down and dirt, just how I like it!
Good job I'm here messing with my 66 ranchero I just noticed it was licking on my one of my rear drums and I'm near this I don't know how to take it apart or take it out so I guess I keep watching videos
Nate, are those arbor plates the ones that came with that HF press? If so, go check out what swag offroad is offering, it's nice! I picked up some of theirs when i got their metal break. I also wanted to say it's badass to know that one of the Bleepinjeep guys are local to me!
I don't have a press so I use a 3 foot long 2" diameter galvanized water pipe to install the bearing and the retainer. You have to be careful with a cutoff wheel not to damage the sealing surface of the axle.
Do you have a video on the replacement of the 1970 F-100 wiper motor? If not you could make a new video yousing my truck. What do you think guys?
I want to ask you if it fits the seale Wrangler 2020 JL
When installing the retainer plate, should that crush the seal?
Timken set 20? Is that the right one for new style big Torino ?
Last night I put the axle is the chest freezer and heated the bearing to 250F. It slid right on with no press.
Great
How can you install it without removing the outer race from the housing???
What if.... let's say I moved the lock ring a little bit without a measurement. How far do I press it on and correctly? I tried the air hammer but then figured I'd have a shop do it. Until now
Can that bearing go on flipped or only one way?
I've seen those axles come apart on the race track.
Is this similar or applicable for D35 or 8.25? Cool how to by the way.

Nope. Both those axles use c-clips inside the diff to hold the axle shafts in place axially instead of the flange he used, and they have regular cylindrical roller bearings instead of the tapered style in the ford 9" style. You'll need a slide hammer type tool to beat the bearings out of the tube on the c8.25/d35.

Okay. I was not sure if there was an "outer" bearing that I was or was not aware of. I know about the bearing inside of the diff.

Did you find the problem ? I Think original tapered bearings should be replaced with the same style.
@mick3105

@@KM-mh2iw yeah mate all sorted
you should be putting the bearing and retainer on dry, you go round a corner to fast and the axle will simply slide out.
@WesternReloader

Ford 9” is a bolt on axel. It cannot slide out. This is before the advent of axle retaining clip... you don’t need to open the diff, push axles in, remove clips to pull axles) you unbolt 4 14mm bolts and the flange can then allow axle to slide out
@Fixitvincent81
2 жыл бұрын
@@WesternReloader yes but the axle is hold in place just by the friction between the bearing and the retainer ring and the axle itself. The bearing then is hold in place by the 4 bolts you mentioned. The newer style c-clip in the differential hold actual axle itself. But then again I doubt this ever goes wrong. You would have to apply the same force on your axle as your workshop press does….while driving around the corner😁
The same way my dad taught me to do it
Looks way easier, and less curse words when you change those bearings. I said a LOT of curse words.
Now I know.
Seriously can yall put the name at the end of the title... And. Where is tim
It would be nice if it was that easy you're forgetting to let the people know that you just took out a tapered bearing with his race that is pressed in the housing
