Which actually solved my issue..I was observing a jerk issue especially at 1st gear but there is no change in engine, it remains the same, also no warning at the dashboard. When I checked with service centers and 3rd parties, they insist to change the injectors. Later based on your video I did this cleaning and my car is all fine, except the Sensor warning signs (I did cleared it multiple times and as well reset the battery connection) but the sign is still pending. Do you suggest to replace the MAF sensor or try once cleaning it with electrical spray. Thanks from bottom of my ❤

Hi, you may clean the sensor properly with a cleaner first, check the connector for corrosion and if all this did not make the light go, might need a new sensor.

Should not use wd40.. use only electrical contact cleaners or corresponding maf sensor cleaners

Tried this on my Citroen Picasso Diesel. Worked a charm, thank you so much. More power, no more black smoke on acceleration and a much smoother running engine. Took me ten minutes to do, I used Carb Cleaner is a spray can to clean it.

Thanks a lot friend... I was getting abnormal missing in some loads and i thought it was early sign of injector failure and decided to service all injectors. And two days before i just cleaned the MAF using this method and it really worked.. now than missing has gone.

Thats what i was asking, at which rpm do you press clutch to downshift...? normally if goes below 1200 or 1000 rpm, engine will command for no load and fuel injection goes to least. And will reduce considerably which can cause engine stalling. And did you dried the maf properly and disconnected the battery while doing the job?

Dont fall for advisors trap...they work on targets.....clean the sensor....95% of the time it works....if it shows issues again then you can go for a replacement.

Thabks a bunch ... I tried this and works like charm. Could feel the improvement in pickupand engine judder. My 2 cents: I had a hard time fitting the smaller (middle)tube back. Its probably because the part was hot when removing but became hard when cleaned with a spray. So it was barely fitting.To fix this, first,fixed the screws near sensor and turbo, then slightly loosend the two screws near sensor, then pushed the middle small tube...i was able to fix it properly( i have a feeling that since i kept engine on, the heat helped the tube to expand enough) Surprisingly the AC cools faster now ... Not sure its a placebo or an intended effect. Anyways thanks a ton

i don't think sanitizer spary will work, pressurised cleaning would be better. If its pressurised and leaves no residue then ok. maf could be cleaned every 30k to 40k kms.

Hi Bro, I filled 12litres of diesel on my Hyundai Santafe 2013 and drove for 1Kms and it started smoking like crazy ( black smoke and been jerking). I have the spray for the sensor and will try it tomorrow ... will feedback ... I'm worried if the guys at the filling station did not put a wrong fuel .. however I was told since 12 litre is not much .. if thats the case I can fill the thank with Diesel and it will nullify the petrol ratio in the tank .. what you think ...

hey bro, if the guy on the fuel station did put wrong fuel either petrol in diesel or diesel in petrol, need to empty the tank and lines. And put correct fuel. In case of a diesel head, petrol in it will make it much less viscous and running for long can make the hp pump and injector go bad and also affect the injection rate ie more fuel per powerstoke equals huge black smoke. So it would be better to drain the mixed fuel out and put the correct one.

Brother, For the Ford Figo 2013 Model, How often should we replace transmission Oil. The service manual does not mention transmission oil top-up check or refill. I hope you can help me out.

Hi there, the Ford factory provided trans oil is for life...just need a topu up. If it's replaced before...an interval of 30 or 40k kms would be good.

Hi there, intermittent power variations can be of bad maf sensor, egr sticking. The judder can be of dirty maf or the injector. Do clean the sensor and egr first and check if it gets better.

@@dailyhandsdiy i cleaned the MAF sensor etc and runs fine better than what it was but not just that i decided to take the airbox off and the pipe that runs behind it into the airbox wasnt even pushed in properly it was lose , before i did all this the airbox was extriamly hot etc so when i put things back took it for a good run the engine was alot more cooler n that but i did see aload of carbon build up near the injectors so im gunna get them replaced at some point car has only done 60.000 miles so they wont have probs been done but thanks for the video once again great channel (ps fogot to mention the judder is still there when it idel but im gussing when i looked at the injectors they will need replacing )

Thanks bro, keep supporting. And bro u can use any pressurised alcohole mixed medium to clean sensor. Jst keep in mind the whole medium has to be evaporised quickly or after some time. There are some sprays which leaves a oily layer which doesnot evaporate, like some glass cleaner sprays tat leaves an oily layer for shining, etc...

No, its a penitrant not a cleaner should use cleaners that does not leave any residue like electrical contact cleaners, carb cleaners etc

This results in good pickup and no judder in engine at idIe have done this after check in light like gear warning light and this light gone after your guide..superb bro actually iam not practically sure i have technical knowledge only..thanks for this video bro..keep it up and give updates like these..

Bro..while running engine is one tick sound happens before this jerking done within one second per jerk at higher speeds and it too at idling ..is there any way to shut it down...i think something issue with diesel supply!

Afternoon, thanks for your video, So here is the problem I am having with my Ford Figo TDci1.4, I put in too much oil and told my wife not to drive, guess what she did not listen to me, and she drove, the car smoked terribly and the car did not want to start, after that, took the car to a local Ford dealer and they did a diagnostics and told me to replace the crank sensor and 1 glow plug and 1 injector which I did, they said the card would start, little did I know the car would not start, had an auto electrician out and figured out it was the key, so what happened was my wife pulled out the kill will the car was smoking, so we replaced the key and managed to get the care started, it builds compression but smokes a lot (white smoke) and has a loud knocking sound, if I rev the car the sound goes away. what I do notice is that when I put in gear and pull away. Will Brake cleaner work to clean the MAF sensor or should I use insect cleaner? Looking forward to hearing from you soon? thank you and stay safe CHIEF.

Yes brother, i personally won't suggest you to use brake cleaner as some brake cleaner has lubricating medium which prevents rust on brakes. Instead use carb cleaner which i think is easily available in market. If not could use inject sprays or any sparys (pressurised) which dries out completely. How much oil did you overfilled, about 350 ml above max level won't hurt the engine. An egr check would also be a good suggestion.

Bro need ur help. Have ecosport 2014 diesel. Issue of white and black smoke. Had changed turbo core, overhauled the entire engine with mostly everything changed from pistons to seals rings everything. White smoke gone but black smoke exists everytime above 2000 rpm. Had injectors serviced many times and they say injectors are good. Black smoke doesn't go away.fuel filter, air filter, engine serviced 2 times within 3k km, everything is new. What to do? Will cleaning mass sensor help?

May be n egr issue. Try cleaning the egr as well also check for boost leaks. gasket leak means compression loss or fluid loss...?fluid lose does not make such smoke but if there's a compression loss, definitely does...

hello, i got a ford aspire 1.5 tdci. its got 12000kms on the odo. recently i have found that with the ac on the engine struggles quite a bit. it even knocks in the first gear too. i have to give quite a bit of throttle to move from first gear. i can feel that there is quite a bit of load on the engine with the ac on. the ac performance is perfect. cools the interior as a ford ac should :) the performance without the ac is good. also the throttle compensation when we switch on the ac does not seem right to me will cleaning the maf sensor solve the problem also pls let me know what is the TONNAGE capacity of the ford aspire diesel ac compressor, if possible. i think it is 150 cc but i wnat to know the tonnage pls help regards

Hey there as mentioned, its nly 12k driven so maf n map would be clean enough. And as concerned could clean that just to see if it changes any thing. I have a video on my list cleaning 1.5 tdci. could check that for guidance. Also if the egr is not functioning well, this can cause the issue. And an avrge drop of 10 to 15% power is acceptable too. Im not sure about the tonnage. For hachbk n compact sedan 1 to 1.5 tonnes max is designed and it varys with speed too... Any how this wont affect the power that much.

Its going to engine safe mode. that y no power, could be a glow plug issue or any disturbance in injector signal.

2014 Ford figo it's not driving more than 60km what can cause.

You may use crc air mass sensor cleaner or electrical contact cleaners...

Bro, white smoke is due to excessive fuel burning. Might be an egr malfunction. Partially stuck open egr can result in white smoke. But the knocking sound, there are some sensors like fuel inlet temperature sensor, return temp sensor, maf sensor etc. So have to check each sensor for problem. If fuel inlet temp sensor is bad can cause severe knocking sound. So have to check each sensor. See if all these works. The last will be mechanical problems which is the last and in severe cases only.

Bro if you could get a hit spray near by its good. to wash away dirt. Dont use diesel or kerosene. petrol can loosen the oil n carbon but if it did not come out, no use

normally jst beside the air filter box. But not all petrol engine has this sensor. But do have a map sensor located at intake manufold. could clean that.

I have done this using carborator cleaner. I think need to clean EGR valve also. For that I need to go to workshop cz to remove diesel filter too. Stuck open is feeling. Bro one doubt While doing this I found oil tinges in the small pipe connecting to head(breather?) On the air intake hose. Is it normal?

Hot wire MAFs are ok with carb cleaner but don't use it on other flat chip sensor MAFs. It kills them in seconds.

Dont wry brother, have checked both the sensors attached to fuel filter? Some times they come loose from cmpny and have to tighten ourselves. And before fitting add some diesel intobthe filter where diesel goes in. Check all the pipes are tight without leak. if theres any leak vaccum leak occurs and priming will not happen. Last the hand primer itself, its ment to be uni directional, and if its not working crctly u cant prime the diesel from tank.

Bro usually while changing fuel filter i would recommend to change the sensors fitted in the new filter with old filter's sensors.One for raw fuel temp sensing and one for water in fuel feed back will be different for the set of new sensors. Car will make a knocking sound if sensor is not compatible with ecm preset values. Next thing is air in the fuel return line. There is a sensor in the return line jst below the priming pump for sensing return fuel temp. If there is air in the juntion could make engine knocking. I guess these could be your problem.

I couldn't find the sensor position, could you please help me with finding the sensor position, am planning on cleaning it like the MAF sensor.

Hi brother, i doubt if fiesta is equiped with a map sensor because the figo/fiesta first models did not come with a sensor. If equiped, the sensor will be fixed to air filter box (left back side) with a small flexi pipe going to manifold below.

I checked with the obd tool and got the map sensor reading as 13.9 on engine off condition and while running also, the value remains constant, that's why I doubt the sensor had gone wrong. In that case I beleive the sensor would be present, but I couldn't find it in the sides of the air filter box. I will remove the filter box assembly tomorrow and update you.

@@dailyhandsdiy Hi , I removed the air filter box but couldn't see the MAP sensor. I guess as you said the sensor is absent. Now am facing a strange issue. When ever I accelerate hard and the rpm goes just beyond 3000, the engine warning light flashes followed by a serious drop in power. If I turn of the car and start again , it behaves normally. I cleaned the MAF sensor , ECU gives a P0102 low input error. But the MAF has readings. Could the EGR valve be the problem? On scanning I saw at the time of error, the EGR value was constant 4.92% until I restat the car, the value was constant. One thing I noted was , the hose connecting turbo and maf had oil in it at the turbo end, also, the opening side of turbo at that side had oil,the clamp was also not tight.

Yes bro egr is the one. Its sticking. At idling air flow should be btwn 6 ~ 8 gallons per sec.

I had same faced same issue and i tried removing the sensor but broked it into parts 😂 I had spent few buck and bought it from scrap accidental cars from local garage but it worked for around 1 year and again faced same issue. I have replaced MAF again and got EGR serviced with air and Diesel filter replaced. Everything is working fine but I am kind of frustrated with this problem occuring again and again. Is there any permanent solution to this ?

Bro ford engine is highly depended on maf sensor. It need cleaning every 20 to 30k kms. Dont waste money on replacing things. Jst clean it and ill give u performance back. There's no other way.

16~17 kmpl with AC in city is normal for 1.4 tdci engines bro. In highway can go up to 21 depending on the way u drive.

Can't say that, there are other things like maf sensor clean up, egr cleanup, these two things can increase engine vibration. Try that first.

Is Using HIT to clean the sensor safe. I looked up online i find Liqui molly MAF cleaner which was close to 900..So should i clean it with HIT or take it to a mechanic to clean the sensor.

You may use hit, but be sure to dry it properly. Or get an electrical contact cleaner. Pure alcohol is another way but you need that pressurized stream to clean the unit.

Don't worry bro, firstly check all the engine related relays, then for loose engine wiring harness including fuse. The last will be crank sensor. Try out these and check if problem resolves.

Hi are you talking abt the 1.4 tdcis or any other. These 1.4 diesel does not have a throttle body. Later some model was provided with anti stutter valve just after turbo pressure hose top left side of engine.

I have Ford figo titanium 2012 model. when I start my car it is feeling hard to maintain rpm(rpm meter starts dancing updown) some times engine is turning off Itself while running ( sometimes turning off after pressing clutch in speed)and don't getting enough power in second gear. don't know exact issue

I have issue in my car that each time i press the accelerator it gives a jerk and accelerate. Acceleration is fantastic no issue but the jerk is inconsistent. If battery cable is removed and ecm is reset problem goes away for few km. And Comes back. I tried changing fuel filter assembly in SC and it went away for few km and again came back. Out of warranty only 10k km driven, 3y over and regular yearly engine oil change, air filter change etc are done.

And do clean the intake sensors ie maf n map. Also check if the egr is functioning properly. Could just disconnect the egr for some time a try driving to see if its egr that cause the issue.

No wrys bro, its a glow plug issue. Turn key to ignition 3 times before starting and see if starts fast. And sometimes if there is any vaccum leak in fuel lines, space gets filled with air and takes longer cranking. These two might be the chances in your case.

Its alwys good if you use some forced cleaning like pressurised cleaners r smthing. Petrol can losen the junk but if it didn't comes out properly, there wont be any change in performance. Some times can make things worse.

Hey there unlike petrol cars, diesels shouldn't reduce much power with AC on, but a marginal, 10 to 15 loss could be seen for high mileage cars. I have videos on cleaning maf, map and egr for 1.5 tdci, pls do check thos. try that first.

Bro if you shift gears late changing or upgrading turbo won't work even if its high performance. Any turbo should need a min rpm to spool up, 1200 rpm will be the min turbo spool up range. try keeping min rpm 1400 if diesel and 1100 if petrol.

And if equiped with egr, changing to higher performance turbo wont make much difference. So if you are giving new hp turbo might need a reprogramming of ecm to adjust egr, injection etc...Or will trigger chek engine light, or MAF, MAP related codes.

This might be a bad engine mount issue.

Bhai shab. Maine ford figo diesel 2010 model ka. Egr wall saaf krwa diya. Turbo bhi change krwa diya. Maf sensor bhi clean krwa diya. Or sari major service bhi krwa diya... Lekin uske baad bhi black smoke maar rhi hain.... Hai koi solution iska sir... Or han uske injector k uper maine black smoke jma dekha hain.

Injector se? to injector seals damage hogaya hoga, charo injectors reseal karvado, injectr k aspas koi smoke nei hona cheyye. Aur kai bhi air pipes me turbo boost pressure leak hoga to vo bhi check karvalo. Egr se ane vala pipe he injector k samne, agar vaha koi leak he to bhi ye smoke hota he.

its Hit mosquito spray. Its only advised if other cleaners are not available. Could use carb cleaner, eectrical contact cleaners and maf cleaner if available.

Gud video sirji,, I have a swift diesel 2012 model almost 90k run n well timely maintained car which runs butter smooth n in love driving ,,,yesterday i Went to ooty hill station with 3 people n weather was cold ,, while I was started the hill climb in the morning with lot of hairpin curves, after driving with using only 2nd gear while climbing for 12km uphill ,, at one point with uphill traffic stopped n when I hit the 1st gear, there was no acceleration wen pressed hard, car was not at all moving!!! I was literally shaken wat to do n then some how made it barely move it with less acceleration n took u turn n came back downhill :( wat do u think the issue is,, I started my journey back to bangalore on NHighway ,, it was all normal,, wondering wat to do if I again to hill station!?

Hi there buddy, nothin to worry about just replace the air filter and clean maf sensor. Normaly when going to hill stations with lil haze, moisture get trapped in air filter with carbon n dust in it and clogging it. Also the sensor get wet bcs of the weather. This cause air starvation and sensor malfunction. Pretty common. Next tym you go, clean the filter properly or place a new one and don't rev the engine too hard on the steeps. You ll be good.

Its not like you are driving a vintage 1990s car which needs a shutdown cooling after heavy drive. Its a non professional advice. Only If the gauge shows a bit more heat, you need to stop and keep the car idling for 5 mins so the radiator fan can cool the engine. but still wont overheat, just high temp thats ol. This can only happen if you continue to keep the rpm above 3500 rpm with heavy load. Also like i said dont rev the engine hard. just keep rpms at low or at mid range ie 1500 to 2500rpms and work on the gears to maintain the speed and rpms.

You may use carb cleaner or electrical contact cleaner of any kind. I just used black hit bcs its less poisoning than red which is strong,you can use any kind but be sure to cover your face.

Could use but for some sensors there's narrow path to sending units. So if the dirt did loosen and if not comes out, makes things worse. So a forced flow of cleaning agent through sensor is recommended to forcefully push dirt out of sensor.

I would opt spray cleaners as it forcefully cleans the dirt and oil contamination inside small gaps of sensor. Some times kerosene will loosen up dirt and will not come out of the small air pathways. This can make things worse. So better use spray cleaners. If not available, use HIT which is good and safe but takes long to dry up that's all. Hope this helps

If the sound doesn't change, most probably next part will be the injector. A main concern for ford figos.

Wish someone can help me.. Had this issue for some time. When the car is warm. It does this thing where i start it again there is black smoke coming out from the back and the car idles really rough and missing. Then eventually it comes right. But it misses in the drive randomly. I replaced the distributor twice. Mechanic told me its that. But still same problem

Hi. Its a Honda Civic s03 1997. The codes were telling the mechanic its air sensors. I changed my intake from 150i to a 160i bottle intake. He said it may be the head gasket. Or the intake itself is faulty. But its very difficult to say. I replaced the idle control sensor as well.

Hm black smoke means excess fuel burning, check the oxygen sensor condition, EGR, fuel pressure sensor n regulator. Oxygen sensor n egr can trigger the intake sensor faults codes.

It might be not a gear box issue. Could be some issue with electronic sensor units.

Bro jst unplug the egr connector and try driving. Remaping for low end will make huge stress on engine. if it was a 4 cylinder then it would be ok. And this problem occurs if egr is sticking or clogged maf sensor or map sensor or even clogged air filter.

its on the back side of dash. If possible take the glow box off and u can find the filter box with screws

Sorry to hear my friend. If its a heating issue check coolant thermostat. Secondly clogs in coolant paths especially in oil cooler if equiped. Over heating will ruin engine oil and might turn black.

Coolant should be topped regularly. Its below 200 for a bottle of 1 L. And if coolant is draining fast. You should check where it is going. A leak or other issues.

Bro simply take the sensor off after removing the two torx crew and clamp or use the simple method illustrated in the video. can use any pressurised fluids which evaporate completely to clean it. Spray it into tje sensor body and dry it properly. Fit it back and you are rdy to go.

bro maf clean karke dhelklo or if not solving, there're sensors on fuel filter and fuel return line, vo dono check karna hoga. Egr bhi clean karvalo. Primry reasonz ye sab hoga.

Bro ford engine maf par kafi syada depend krt h. todsa calculatn variation ate to gadi misbehave kart h. Agar gadi ka maf kabi bi clean nei kiya to vo karvalo. difference hoga.

bro did u clean maf sensor? rpm down and speedo might go down if the calibratn is bad. Try unpluging the battery and reconnct it. This will recalibrate the rpm and speedo. and happy to help u bro.

bhai there are 2 main reasons for blk smoke 1 maf snsr and 2 egr clogs. phle snsr cln karke dheklo and if doesn't improve egr srvc karna pdga. I 'll upload egr srvcing soon. for rffrnce
