Thank you for shining light on thw risk of these two assistant deliveries. I had my first baby at age 22 and they accidentally gave me a little to much epidural. They let me push for over 3 hours when i couldnt even feel a thing to push. I made zero progress and should of had a C-section. Baby's head appeared to be stuck and doctor on call allowed the nurse to say i was going to push this babh out. Literally they cut me doing an episiotomy and pulled my son out with a vacuum. 10 years later i had pelvic organ prolapse so bad i needed surgery. I had a prolapsed bladder and rectum. Leading me to no choice but to have surgery. I wish i would had known how go advocate for myself but i had no idea amd was just trusting the doctor. They do this everyday right? There the specialist we are told to trust them. I have learned the opposite don't go to the hospital to have a baby do a birth center or home birth. It only takes having one baby in the hospital to be ruined amd never the same.

It doesn’t help when they make you lay on your back so you feel like you’re pushing up hill. I had the vacuum extractor used for my first child when I was 18 years old. I really didn’t think I was pushing properly because of the back pain I was having. I didn’t take any pain medication with any of my deliveries (3) but I don’t think I would be as uptight about taking medication if I was going through it now. My son had a really bruised head on top of his cone head and had some breathing issues very shortly after birth that they couldn’t really understand why. He had to have an apnea monitor for 6 months and also sleep on a Reflux board. He’s 33 years old now and has 4 children of his own and now my second son and his wife are expecting their first baby this summer 😊I’m a RN so I like to still watch medical videos. I hope all the doctors realize that women can’t push properly when laying flat in the bed so please remember that when you’re delivering babies. The reason I mention this is because I recently saw a video of a woman in labor being told by the doctor that she had to lay flat essentially for his comfort and he was quite rude about it to this woman and it brought me back in time. I understand you have to. be able to catch the baby but it still needs to have the comfort of the mother first and foremost since she’s the one pushing out the baby. I’m very thankful for good doctors.

Thanks for the video. It seems like both of these methods are quite dangerous for the baby. If I opt out for a natural birth, however induced due to a previous loss, could I refuse these 2 baby delivery tools and say that I’m ok with a c section in case of an emergency, or is it going to be too late for the baby? Thanks
