Best forced patina technique I've seen. I think that with a few more layers it would just increase in depth and interest. 👍

I really appreciate you doing this instruction video to share your technique. The designs you are able to produce are amazingly intricate. The video clearly shows how layering builds the depth and complexity of the finished design. Great job - thanks.

This looks awesome, thanks for the video. Many forced patinas that I see online just do not look good, but it looks like you've mastered it.

good tutorial......I've seen another channel use the mustard also, but he added a touch of vinegar and lemon juice to his mixture and it really etched well. Another pattern tip is to maybe fuz out the end of your toothpick which give a very random and thin marks to the pattern. Great job though. You could also get an Irwin Quick Grip clamp to clamp the wood handle to the table, would hold more securely than magnets ?

Thank you so much for sharing your technique. Does this kind of patina have anti-rust effect? Is it better than vinegar method?

I don't know. I know it doesn't work on stainless steel. But you can test it by putting a little bit of yellow mustard on the steel waiting about 25 or 30 minutes then wipe it off. If you see discoloration it should work.

@@DaegDraco thanks for the quick response. I thought about trying it on a hidden part of the blade, maybe even taking the knife apart and testing it out. Thanks again !
