Force Method Introduction Part 1 of 2 - Structural Analysis

This video provides an extended overview to the Force Method (aka flexibility method, compatibility method, method of superposition, method of consistent deformations) and a guided example. Use the outline below to jump around to parts of the method you are interested in.
0:00 Introduction and simple overview of the Force Method
2:54 Beginning of Example Problem
3:48 Evaluate Determinacy of Structure and explanation of a redundant reaction.
6:01 Breaking up indeterminate structure into statically determinate parts
8:45 writing compatibility equations
14:09 calculating deflections of primary and redundant structures

Could you please make a video on how to calculate "beam to column stiffness ratio" for 2 bay 1 story frame. I know it is very specific. Just requesting. I want to calculate the ratio for each column separately but couldn't find any way to do that.

What could be better during Coronavirus isolation than to study a little structure analysis for the hell of it??? 👍 This really is interesting...thanks for posting.

@@structurefree Thank you, I saw this video but I have question. If the beam is fixed on both sides and apsolut rigid, is the angle of twist zero?
