This is not just a video, this is a FILM dude. I was taken on a JOURNEY.
i’m high on 4/20 watching this 😊and i’m still figuring it out. i’m 26. no job, but since it’s hard to find me a simple job around here… it pushed me to go back to school. i don’t want to feel this feeling anymore. i have no support from my family but my wife and that’s all that matters. i’m still alive because of her. I hope I can make my wife proud one day for not giving up on me yet.

Ive been noticing recently that a lot of my favourite art, especially in music, I don't understand. And thats WHY I like it. because it feels like the artist wrote it for them not for me, not to make it palatable or consumable- and I can find my own meaning in it but the ambiguity that comes from (for lack of a better word) 'selfish" art is so much more interesting. Ive started trying to really tune in to what I WANT to do instead of what I think I should do, and the more I explore that the more I feel that I am creating work that feels like my own. I've discovered a motto that has really progressed my art style and ideas: 'if it's boring only do it on purpose" - if I feel bored at an point while drawing, I acknowledge it and then make a conscious decision whether to change it up so its less boring, or lean into the boredom because I actually want what I it will accomplish. For example the other day I was drawing a person, and I was doing my usual habit of putting effort and energy into drawing the face, the pose etc, but when I got to drawing the hair I felt bored, thinking 'I don't know what hairstyle to do', at which point I usually just scribble in some messy lines and move on. But then I thought - this is my art, this is my house, I can do what I want - so now when I feel like that I will do an intentional scribble in a different colour as abstract hair, or I will draw a cloud as hair or vines and leaves, or floating hair. it seems so simple now that I say it but the more I do it the more I find new areas of my art to implement it. The other half of this approach is doing boring things on purpose, so sometimes I'll look at the drawing and think ' no, I actually want proper hair here because it's what I want out of this drawing, and so I will consciously put in effort to creating realistic and well drawn hair. Using this approach and combining the two methods of acknowledging boredom in my work has made it much more representative of my own mind and style, and has made me a lot more playful and exited in the stuff I make. I hope this can help or inspire someone :)
It doesn't matter how old you are, even in midlife you are still trying to figure it out. Do what you love, follow your passion and don't be afraid to take chances with your career especially when you are younger.
How beautifully you described how we all are just figuring out things, just making them work. Loved each and every frame of this video 😍
"you are exactly where you need to be right now" i love that, and you are correct because i got to experience this videos beautiful colors and quality on my 4k Laptop OLED screen. So props for that!
Wow, beautifully put! My parents have told me figuring out what you don’t like is equally as if not more important than finding what you do like. And I’ve really been embracing the just do it mentality as I start to launch a music passion project I’ve been working on for years! Thank you for a great video and motivation!
Instant follow, this was such a vibe, so well edited, the pacing...just perfect! Feeel very inspired right now, thanks man!

A beaut of a message, thank you
This was a great reminder and perfectly said! There's not a concrete, definite answer, but just keep trying!
A "MrBeast" type video will get millions+ views with little to no actual value to apply to life. Videos like yours John Luke are not only criminally underrated, but DO NOT receive the attention they deserve! There has got to be a change here on the platform and i'm here for it!! Subbed to you my guy keep killing it!

DUDE THIS IS AN ABSOULTE SMASHING FILM.... THE REALSEST VID IVE EVER SEEN... honestly dude I'm surprised apple or someone big hasnt reached out to you to film videos for them.
Literally was having this convo with my mom this morning, 22 not sure what I'm really doing but I try everything. I recently got a job offer that would be desk job (which I think i'd hate) but also wanna get better at videography and travel down that road to see where it takes me as an entrepreneur. Confused but this video sums it up perfectly. Needed to hear this bro
This video is too good, thank you for making this I'll start posting on KZread channel too
love this 💯
Love this video. In high school and college I hated the question what I wanted to do for the rest of your life as if I had to have it all figured out at such a young age. I love this attitude of "just try it!" Why can't that be an acceptable answer? Just try things and it's ok! It's about not knowing, but doing something anyway. Great message.
