I have often found that my faith in the Lord and trust in His will to provide in my life is inextricably tied to my level of obedience and disobedience in my life. When I am being disobedient and persistent in living contrary to what God has ordained I am filled with anxiety and fear that the Lord will not provide. In my mind, the thought is, "How can God provide for me when I know I am pursuing or making an allowance for sin?" The danger of sin is the allure of it. The allure that it elevates you and will make you feel good and fulfill you until you realize you're like the prodigal son, desolate and in dire need of your Father's secure guiding hand. To be honest, I am mostly scared to have to go through the fires of life even though I know God is to provide a way to endure. Every time I think about Abraham and Sarah, or how long it took Issac to be married, or Hosea or anybody I'm like, "But not me Lord. I don't want to go through a yearning that takes that long. to be fulfilled" But as Samuel told Saul, "Obedience is greater than sacrifice." We must learn to trust and obey and submit and the Lord will take care of things.
