The Honda NSX Type R, introduced in 1992 as a limited edition model, further evolved the lightweight technology developed for the NSX, incorporating material substitutions and tuning theories from racing cars to achieve higher performance.
In addition to the inherently lightweight all-aluminum body of the NSX, numerous areas were further lightened, resulting in a 120kg reduction in weight. This led to improved acceleration, braking, and cornering performance. Based on thorough testing at circuits worldwide including the Nürburgring, the suspension and other chassis components were specially tuned.
Exclusive parts such as the MOMO steering wheel and RECARO co-developed full bucket seats were adopted, along with equipment and specifications emphasizing a direct driving feel and operability, prioritizing the unity between the driver and the car.
Only 483 units of the NSX Type R were produced to meet the needs of sports driving enthusiasts.

ニュルブルクリンクをはじめとする世界各地のサーキットでの徹底的なテストに基づき、サスペンションなどの足回りを専用チューニングを施し、MOMO製ステアリングホイールやRECARO社と共同開発したフルバケットシートなどの専用パーツ、シフトやクラッチの操作フィールにこだわった装備・仕様を採用し、ドライバーとクルマの一体感を重視したダイレクトな操縦性と操作性を実現しました。NSX Type Rは、スポーツドライビングを楽しむエンスージアストのニーズに応えたクルマとして483台のみが生産されたのです。
