For nearly 75 years, Pearl Harbor survivor said little about attack -- until now

The 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, which left more than 2,400 Americans dead and drew the U.S. into World War II, is this week. Donald Stratton, 94, is one of just five people still alive today who survived the attack on board the USS Arizona, and he's returned to Hawaii for the commemorations. John Blackstone has more.

An interesting quote from a WWII veteran, “We weren’t the greatest generation, our parents were. They raised us to be what we were.”

They fought and died to keep their generation free. Now ours is under attack from an enemy within, and no one seems to care. If they did they would fight. But we sit back and watch out President be impeached on false charges by corrupt and leftist Congressmen. We sit idle and watch our cities be burned and looted by thugs and communists. If the American way of life is destroyed in favor of a socialist nation, we will deserve what we get.

@@Dr.Pepper001 "False charges"!? "Corrupt leftist Congressmen"? Listen, I Certainly didn't want Hillary but that man did NOTHING but make a mockery of our nation on the republican card, while sitting in the most powerful seat on the planet! What did he actually do with his time aside from openly hog up every once of media spotlight that he could, further separate our people and incite an attack on our nation's capital? He took the job to be a center of attention Celebrity (again) that's it. He used the republican nomination to relive his glory days and be a social media Celebrity. While our cities burned and our capital stormed by extremists fueled by Trump's own BS about election fraud and crybaby lies, he sat and did NOTHING but encouraged insurgence and you claim "false charges"!? While faced with the biggest pandemic of our generation, he sat and did NOTHING but antagonize and push us apart! I won't even go into pulling away from progress that we had been working on for 13+ years. He has cemented his OWN legacy as the biggest joke of a president that this country has ever seen! From DAY ONE He chose to fight his election by being dirty and crooked and cold to the others. He used lies and diversionary tactics the entire way. These are decisions that are made by people who are typically only out for themselves and have little to no regard for others. True narcissistic types. Furthermore, Don't generalize people for calling a duck a duck! Trump finger painted HIS OWN self portrait and he doesn't deserve an OUNCE of admiration for how bad it looks! It's like rewarding a child for bad behavior and it's absurd! I'm REALLY tired of seeing brainwashed, ridiculous echo chamber comments like yours! Too many people are still under this BS spell and you need to wake TF up and join reality!

My wife and I met Donald at the Punchbowl ceremony on Dec 5 of 2016. This and the visit to Pearl was something I desired since I was a lad of 8.To think that I could shake hands with three of the last survivors from the USS ARIZONA is well past everything I could have desired

This happened 2 years before I was born, so I only can be horrified at the events and suffering that is documented. Actually, only those who were there have the right to express these feelings, and too soon, they will all be gone...
