Political left - that describes me, and I do not in any way support Hamas or the Palestinians (except for their basic human rights - the same that also exist for Jews and Israel). I do support Israel and are very aware of the hypocrisy being spouted. This is an important point: the motivation behind the hate is more religion-based rather than politics or left/right. Many of the far right who support Israel do so because they want Jews in Israel to be God's cannon fodder for their "Last Days". They hate Jews, but they hate Muslims more. Those on the left - after listening for a while, I realized that the ones I'd listened to gained their hostility through a combination of religious programming when they were kids (and through mainstream media which is in reality very conservative), mixed with carefully crafted messaging from the "media" which led them to false conclusions. You need to be careful because the 'right' and the 'left' are NOT monolithic, and looking at the situation through a single lens (examples: "It's Economics", "It's Politics As Usual!", It's _______!") often hides a deeper truth. In this case, it's multiple aspects mixed together and fed by lies from the mainstream.
