    I want to add something to the hitboxes and why I called them weird. That was specifically in regards to the light finishers. If you manage to "whiff", meaning not hit the guy you're locked on to, the hitbox is actually quite alright. But at the same time, the lights have extreme forward tracking. This threw me off a lot while testing. But I definitely agree with you that his heavy finisher hitboxes are extremely poor!

    I think this character needs enhanced lights so even if u block it he can continue to apply pressure with hes mix ups and unlockables...even tho there kinda slow

    Yeah maybe, but he can also do a light while moving backwards and get out of range from enemies, kinda like how highlander can

    @@Derp516 The lack of a gimmick hurts him. Unblockable light finishers aren't a very good gimmick. I have no problem landing light finishers on fucking kensei because he has mixup tools, not because they're unblockable. JJ already had dodge attacks in two different directions, the difference being only ONE of them counts as a light parry. Why does his heavy dodge attack give you a light parry? We'll never fucking know, it's not like it's faster, it just comes from the opposite side.

    Excellent review. I honestly feel the same about him though I do enjoy some leeway with playing on console. Still, I would say Ubi went the smart way with a Hero that is not overtuned, might get less hate from the low level players and thus is more likely to get some buffs that put him in a good place. The other scenario, nerfing a hero into ground after too much tears have been shed ... I like it's prospect less.

    I wish they would have made his ordinary attacks do fire damage rather than physical so that at least his third feat wouldn't feel that situational. In any case, great video!

    They really need to make that light finisher 500 or 533 ms, 600 ms lights are probably the worse idea ever. Who's gonna use an attack that's slow, unfeightable, and 18 dmg, you're just risking taking 40-60 dmg for wanting to finish your chains.

    After trying him for a bit, what do you think would be the most important changes to make to bring him to at least a fundamentally viable tier? Is numbers adjustments enough (finisher recoveries, etc) or does he need new moves?

    in my opinion, id say his hitboxes should be worked on, his forward movement after feints should be better tuned, and he should get a crush and counter and/or deal damage with his deflect punish. Even 10 damage would be fine imo

    I think, yes, his hitboxes should be fixed. Some things they could do to give him more pressure is enhanced lights? I would like to see crushing counter (unblockable) attacks on deflected attacks bc they’re useless half the time rn. I also think he should be able to cancel his recovery faster, more like the way nobushi can because that was supposed to be this characters gimmick and it feels so so slow when I’m going from light to dodge attack to dodge attack etc. The character just feels clunky to play, which is weird because he looks so fluid. But every time I want to do something, it feels very delayed. Other characters with similar moves do not take so long to actually do what I want them to do. Take the forward dodge light for instance. On zhanhu, there is quite the delay when you input it to when he actually attacks. But on kensei, I don’t feel this delay like I do For zhanhu. And the same can be said for all his dodge attacks. Also, some hyper armor right at the end of his heavies would do wonders bc they are so slow rn that you can light them on reaction and interrupt it.

    •His zone should be Omni directional left and right •A neutral opening bash like Tiandis palm strike would be nice •Of course hit box changes •His lights don’t bounce of after being blocked so he can continue his attack chain. Same goes for his light dash attack.

    With glasses, you look like you should edit for Pewdiepie. Not that it's a bad thing. But I'm hoping to get my hands on him and seeing how he feels in 4s. I feel like duels will be a blast to have new blood in it, but I'm really curious ab po ut team fighting with him

    So I’ve been playing as Zhanhu or Sun Da, whichever... I’ve been missing from the game for almost a month and a half so I’m rusty, spent the first rep playing against A.I dominion, now I’ve been playing the new breach event against players As “Sun Da” I now more than ever struggle against Highlanders and Kenseis, myself being a former Kensei main My biggest problem with the new hero is his dodge, I would call it pathetic! Too many times have I been clipped by wide attacks whilst dodging thinking I’m safe! And now have to consider timings as dodging too early with him is a thing, where as with Kensei it’s dodge and forget He’s dodge is more akin to raiders little shuffle(stun tap) than it is to Kenseis dodge heavy 90 degree side step! He has good mixups and flows pretty well, but struggle to understand why he is so slow to get going In regards to hit boxes, yeah they’re pretty bad, noticed that heavies tend to connect more if I throw them from the left side as the right ones tend to just fly over an opponents head Overall, he has potential and in my opinion more viable than Jorm, but BP is still the best thing to come out this year! Considering Hitokiri is now nerfed

    I didn't think they could make a worse character than Jorm, but they did it. Jorm has mixup potential. This guy's mixup potential consists of something you can dodge, and something you can parry on reaction even when you're high on shrooms. Oh, and he's got a dodge attack with no special properties and what seems to be bad range and tracking. Uhhhh. Way worse than Jorm actually. Jorm is usable.

    Vulkan He'stan I think he meant in terms of how the character has a more varied playstyle and better animations. And this character has waaaaaaay better mixup potential than Jorm. Jorm either has a light into stam punch, stam punch for neutral or feint a heavy into stam punch, and that’s literally it, it’s boring With Sun Da you can do a lot more such as mix his dodges into his unblockables or cancel them into a zone, guard break, or zone into guard break, unblockable feint into dodge attack into single light etc there’s loads more combos plus a deflect

    sun da needs a dodge cancel, faster recoveries, a longer chain than light heavy light light or heavy light, the superior dodge bock should be replaced with a deflect with 2 options, low damage big pushback and higher damage that can be feinted / avoided.

    Sunda will basically get stomped in duels and 2v2s by turtles cuz his offense is quite mediocre and doesn't allow to really open up the opponent, so anyone who is a straight up turtle and only fishes for parries will dumpster Sunda

    It'd be better if he had access to bash of his from neural. It'd work as an opener to initiate offense, because 500 ms lights aren't reliable, + they get shut down easily just by a simple block :/

    People are already starting to catch on. I don't dare to use that dodge attack anymore since it's a 5050 for me too. So half the times I'm dealing 14 whole points of damage and the other half I'm eating 30-40dmg. Really not worth the risk. The hero also has problems anti-ganking because people standing around you already know from which direction to block the zone. The zone being 600ms makes it a free parry in general, even on console. In my experience trying to use the zone when getting ganked just gets you parried and pinballed to death. Furthermore players back up when you get revenge, and you don't have any good tools to chase em down. The forward dodge light and heavy are always top, so it's an easy block. They also don't have a lot of range. It has happened to me frequently when people start losing they unlock and sprint away and there isn't anything I can do to catch them. The sprinting heavy has virtually no extra forward momentum to catch people. I'm about to hit rep 7 on this hero, but I do hope he gets some tweaks.

    I really don't get why I'd ever use his finisher light. It seems very slow and easy to react to, even Highlanders normal lights seem faster. And getting parried will guarantee the opponent a lot more damage then you can do with it. Why use the lights when you can just use the unblockable heavies which either guarantee a lot of damage, a guardbreak or at least a heavy parry.

    Oh, it's because I believe top attacks should be same as the sides in most cases for damage and instead of offering them a use through better damage, they should have much more range than sides (as sides get the benefit of hitting people you are not locked on to with those horizontal hitboxes). This would be very useful in teamfights where someone is out of range of sides but your target swap top attack may hit them. I've not mentioned this publicly before so good question!

    -Warden -Conqueror -Prior -Hitokiri (i don't know post nerf...we'll see). Ther's no other heroes very good in 1v1.

    @@FrostyNutz- Raider doesn't have any tipe of defense, his defense kit is trash. LBs doesn't have a really good opener...on console are two strong hero (not the best, but very strong); on pc more or less, but they can't do shit against the 4 heroes i've mentioned...if someone want to win some 1v1 tournament, he should pick Warden or CQ.

    The deflect is completely pointless as it doesn't guarantee any damage. You may aswell just parry if you want to take stamina damage from you opponent.

    What is your definition of a good hero? Bashes, Fast recoveries? It's up to you to his your opponent up. Not just rely on guaranteed damage

    @@ZuRekka A good hero is someone who's offense isn't easily negated and kit holds up against the whole roster. As it stands zhanhu fullfills neither. He's chilling like aramusha in terms of viability in duels. Dare I say aramusha might even be better...

    9:49 I feel bad for LB. It's like...he get's poked in almost every analysis vids for his punishes, while having nothing, but those punishes and the game with him (at least at my level of play) just devolves into a glorious staring contest...     Raider got absolutely fuck3d in the 4ss. He was really overnerfed to shit. His initial heavy damage was nerfed for no reason. They say it was because they did too much dmg when they caught you in a team fight but that's bullsh1t. If you are hit by raw heavies on a team fight then you're just bad. It weakens his parry punishes which do less than kensei which makes no sense. Raider's side heavy does less than kensei which makes no sense at all. The removal of stunning tap is just lazy and overdone. They stunning tap made him more offensive and gave him his mixups. Now he's gonna be a turtle again but even worse. If they aren't going to do anything else to him than he'll drop back down to c tier at best. I'd rather have pre rework raider. If he is going to keep stunning tap as storming tap than he should get back his initial heavy damage and make his zone 45 instead of 44. If his damage won't be changed then he should get his stunning tap back but with a shorter stun. If they don't do either of those than raider will just end up as a worse version of kensei. Rip raider.

    That's what happens when a bunch of bandwagon riders pick up a character after a rework makes them stronger. They abused the shit out of his tap, people got frustrated with it, hence the nerfs. Maybe they were a little harsh, but he did need toning down, his damage was my main problem with him, not the tap. We'll see who the true raider mains are in the days to come, i suppose. You're right though, they shouldn't have completly removed the stun property from his tap, lowering the stun time would have been better.

    I doubt Ubi will ever revert the changes that happened in FH, they have a stupid pride to hold on to, pity because Raider is the only character in the whole game has his offense involved the stun effect which is in most cases useless, it could have made the offensive aspect of the game more diverse instead of bash, 400ms and HA😠
