This author has a knack of attracting the downtrodden His characters walk out of their hut, & WHAM, they immediately get engulfed by them
Could someone explain how one can LAY DOWN on the oven to sleep? This is mentioned often in these stories .

The oven was brick and a few feet high and large and people could lie on it. Actually a very good design and dual purpose for cooking and sleeping in cold climates
