So I'm about a year late but this makes sense still. They did manage to build spaceships and live on the moon but they are still using 1940's tech to do that, which is shown by Richter pointing at the very large 40's computer. A modern phone has hundreds, if not thousands of times the computing power of that computer from the 40's and is not even 1% it's size which is extremely impressive for someone that doesn't know what that is. This is also why a single cellphone or tablet can power the entire Battleship but their current computers can't.

@@tomasgibbs3235 Because using older tech but with newer power sources is unnecessary. If I can use my phone to power a brand new airplane built with 40's tech why not just built that airplane with modern tech and have it powered by similiar components instead? That also reduces risk of failure and give you overall a much better and smoother experience. It's also much more stable and probably less expensive.

The Shrimp test device was basically a scaled down version of the Runt device tested in Castle Romeo, but with partially enriched lithium as fuel. Its weight was a comparatively light 23,500 lb, and it was 179.5 in long and 53.9 in wide. The fuel consisted of 37-40% enriched lithium-6 deuteride encased in a natural uranium tamper. 10 Mt of the yield was from fast fission of the tamper. The Shrimp also tested light case design, substituting an aluminium exterior case for the steel used in the Sausage (tested in Ivy Mike). It used a RACER IV fusion boosted primary. The reason for the unexpectedly high yield was due to the "tritium bonus" provided by the lithium-7 isotope which made up most of the lithium. This isotope was expected to be essentially inert, but in fact it had a substantial reaction cross section with the high energy neutrons produced by tritium-deuterium fusion. When one of these high energy neutrons collided with a lithium-7 atom, it could fragement it into a tritium and a helium atom. Tritium was the most valuable fusion fuel, being both highly reactive and causing extremely energetic fusion, so this extra source of tritium greatly increased the weapon yield. The Bravo crater in the atoll reef had a diameter of 6510 ft, with a depth of 250 ft. Within one minute the mushroom cloud had reached 50,000 feet (15 km), breaking 100,000 feet (30 km) two minutes later. The cloud top rose and peaked at 130,000 feet (almost 40 km) after only six minutes. Eight minutes after the test the cloud had reached its full dimensions with a diameter of 100 km, a stem 7 km thick, and a cloud bottom rising above 55,000 feet (16.5 km).

So in this movie, Nazis escaped to the moon after the war and builds a society and a fleet of space ships, while only having computers thousand times less powerful than a cellphone. And yet they achieved this in 2018. And all this time no government or organisations related to space travel or observation even notices them despite the fact that they have space ships with missiles while the Nazis are mining huge portions of the moon. Cinema Sins would love this

Given how advanced the Nazis were during WW2, and how craterous the "dark" side of the moon is, it is conceivable that they could have escaped detection. I mean, if Germany had that many resources at the time, the war might have been a heck of a lot longer, but making crazy decisions is on brand for them... The REAL issue is that Earth's gravity would have crushed them all to paste...

In your book, wouldn't the defeated "white Russian" political organizations like Lokhot Autonomy, SS Sturmbrigade R.O.N.A. and the R.F.P. (Russian Fascist Party which uses a Russian version of the same diamond Swastika logo as the Reich but with two heads on the Russian eagle) have corporate mergers and acquisitions with the defeated German NSDAP, Quisling's defeated Norwegians, the defeated George Lincoln Rockwell book publishing organization in the USA and Metaxas' Greeks, and the defeated Mussolini Northern Italian organization to form a multi-ethnic type of European socialist organization that combines all of these different nationalist organizations together into something less explicitly pan-German and more multinational. Watching a lot of Star Trek reruns makes me think they would want to do genetic engineering to make smarter, stronger, healthier, more athletic and more territorially aggressive central european looking humans (which is a similar scifi story to what happened with Khan in Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek Eugenics wars and this was also what happened in the TV show Star Trek Enterprise when Brent Spiner played the role of Lieutenant Commander Data's ancestry Doctor Soong who was imprisoned by the Star Trek Federation for creating genetically enhanced humans). There is already a Star Trek "Eugenics Wars" novel that was written by an author named Greg Cox that you could read that is a similar idea except that in the Greg Cox "Eugenics Wars" book, it was Indian ultranationalist movements in India that genetically engineered an Indian superhuman in the form of Khan Noonien Singh ( reference the Paramount Pictures film called "Star Trek II : The Wrath of Khan" as well as the original Star Trek "Space Seed" episode ).

Yes, I also love this movie, but the second one is hot garbage. It has a cool premise, but they waste literally every single thing they set up. Like, a minor spoiler warning, there is an Apple (company that made Iphones) cult that is honestly somewhat hysterical at the introduction, but then they use and feature them for the entirety of the movie to deliver a joke that amounts to "nobody reads the terms of service". And that's it. That was the entire joke with around 25 miutes worth of screentime as setup.

And these crazy people telling people on the streets that nazis went to the moon did exist. (That hitler escaped to the southpole was also a real theory under tinfoilhats) The genius of this movie is how it uses facts AND made up shit eqaly and just plays it out. Giving us the wonderfull conclusion of showing how utterly delussional these ambitions where, but also how dangerous. In hyper extra ways.
