Started going to maine Rd at 13 Yr old in 1981 . Loved the atmosphere , favorite memory was when we played Barnsley during the miners strike . The Kippax was singing " you'll never work again " and about 100 Barnsley fans turned round as one and moonied at us . Absolutely hilarious.

I lived in Wythenshawe at the time , and me and my mates all went down , we couldn't get in so stayed outside , even though we lost 1-0 , it was a memorable day , so much missed that ground as it was part of my life for so long.

I always thought Maine Road was a miserable place. When they built the stand to replace the Kippax they lost the last bit of soul they had. It's even worse now - a stadium built for something else begged for by Man City pre lottery winning years.
