the 918 is nothing short of piece of art and a privilege to build. The builders were very serious about their work; very deliberate in their movement. No one seemed hurried. Its amazing how many "preventive" systems they had set up to avoid accidental contacts. I'm surprised the engine was hand-fabricated!

is insane the detail, the 918 is the best hypercar out there, hands down

This is why I laugh when people are like really! that much for a Porsche!?!? I would never spend that type of money. Those people clearly have never owned a Porsche or know the process behind making one. True beauty and precision.

I don't understand why people say stuff like that. Porsche are relatively cheap for how good of a car it is. Like in the case of the 918,p1, La Ferrari. the 918 is the cheapest of the 3 and arguably the best of the 3.

Mike Hershey no most inventions come from the uk and either copied or bought by the u.s

by 100 selected employees by hand, not by foot. Joking aside. Simply amazing the manufactory, tools, craftsmanship. The minds putting all these together. The procedures the training, the QA. There are so many parts and screws. The cheap lotus Exige S I used to own came with a few missing screws.

Fascinating! Contrast this video with the "Made by Hand" video of the Porsche factory in the late 50's or early 60's. It's amazing.

If you watch videos of any other car being built you can see it takes them slight effort to fit stuff in place, but in this car everything just clicks into place and sits secure with a couple screws, thats how you know youre making a good car

Took a tour of the Leipzig plant back in 2003 when the Carrera GT was being manufactured, and was amazed at the factory. Amazing what goes into the manufacturing of these vehicles.

But now they learned that they have to built the 918 in the home of Porsche Stuttgart because there is where Porsche builts all the sport and super cars. but yes the precision and the quality is awesome

I love the production line, and lack of automated machines. Even a few hand screws:)...We have gone from the rotary phone,to cell phones that are more powerful than the Cray supercomputer built in the 70's?. If the telecommunications industry was as slow as the 'Energy Industry' or auto motive industry, we'd still be on rotary phones.
