In this episode, we conclude our food travel story in Shantiniketan, a pituresque town established by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore.
We started our day with a floating breakfast at Mayas Resort, a unique and relaxing way to enjoy the natural beauty of the place. Then we visited Vanalakshmi Unmesh Samiti, a self-help group owned place where they make their own ghee, jam and other food products. We buy some ghee from there and head to Barishaler Rannaghor, a restaurant opposite Banalakkhi that serves authentic Bengali cuisine. We feasted on mutton and other dishes like postor bora.
Finally, we relive the memories of our past three episodes and bid farewell to Shantiniketan, a place that has more than just food for thought.

বনলক্ষীতে সর্বশেষ খেয়েছিলাম এইবছর ফেব্রুয়ারীতে, খুবই হতাশাজনক বিশেষ করে মাটন, না আদা না রসুন, শেষে পাতিলেবু চটকে সেই রস দিয়ে উদ্ধার করলাম.. ঐটাই ওখানে শেষ খাওয়া ছিলো.. পরেরদিন খোয়াইতে রাম শ্যাম রেস্টুরেন্ট এ ভেজথালি খেয়েছিলাম অত্যন্ত পরিতৃপ্তি সহকারে.. শান্তিনিকেতন গেলে রামশ্যামই আমার চলবে.. অতটাদূর বরিশালের রান্নাঘর অথবা বনলক্ষী কোনওটাই পোষাবে না

এবার puri টা ছাড়ো.. শীতকালে যাবো শান্তিনিকেতনে পৌশমেলার সময়.. কাঁথা স্টিচের একটা multicoloured পাঞ্জাবি লাগবে যেরকম বাউল ফকিররা পরে থাকেন।

Have had at Bonolokkhi. I hear they are same family. And the mother and father runs the Bonolokkhi. Son and daughter in law, after a rift has the Borishaler ranna ghor. Tremendous competition between both mother in law and daughter in law 😂
These days we keep hearing ' left the corporate job to start this or that ' is actually degrading what one is pursuing from heart . Instead it should be ' threw monkey of the back to walk with head up' or similar

Ami Bannolakhi Team e. But over the time Shantiniketan is loosing its charm. Political fallout is responsible. But Shantiniketan remains within us, so will continue to visit whenever opportunity comes. Floating breakfast is hopeless idea for me.

বরিশালের রান্নাঘরের পরিবেশনা খুবই খারাপ। আর খাবার অ ভালো নয়। পচা ভেটকির পাতুরি দেওয়া হয়েছিল।

প্রথমেই একটা ভুল বললেন। শান্তিনিকেতনের আসে পাশে ১৯৬২ সালে একটা ধানের চারা ও হতো না, এমন গাঁজাখোরি গল্প public platform এ বলবেন না। আমার বাবা, ঠাকুরদা এবং তাদের পূর্বপুরুষরা বহুবছর ধরে ওই অঞ্চলে আছেন। বোলপুর থেকে ৪০ km দূরত্বে আমাদের আদি বাসভূমি। ছোটবেলায় গরমের ছুটি, পুজোর ছুটি বা শীতের ছুটিতে কলকাতা থেকে আমরা যখন গ্রামের বাড়িতে যেতাম তখন ধান বোনা থেকে ধান ঝাড়া সবই দেখেছি। বছরে দুবার করে এখানে ধান হয়। প্রত্যেক বাড়িতে নতুন চাল উঠলে যে নবান্ন হয় তা ওই অঞ্চলের বহু পুরনো উৎসব। আপনার নিশ্চয় পূর্ব বঙ্গের lineage আছে, তাই বেশি ইমোশনাল হয়ে পড়েছেন, তা বলে গল্পের গরু গাছে চড়াবেন না।
