I feel like so many people are missing her point completely here. She's not saying to only buy crisps, cookies, and pizza and binge on them. She came from a restrictive eating and exercising past where everything had to be the perfect calories and macros and hunger was 'meant to be ignored'. With 'all in' she still eats a variety of wholefoods and lovely balanced meals and snacks, but also allows herself the foods she wants and likes without judgement, and listens to genuine hunger cues. I've come from a restrictive eating disorder and gone through her journey - after a while of eating more calories and gaining the weight your body needs you naturally find a balance where you still have mostly healthy, balanced meals but can have crisps or a cookie or two without thinking it's an all or nothing diet. My body and mind feels so much more nourised and healthy and my life is so much more full of joy without restricting my weight or food and I'm sure she feels the same.

If you dont have background of restrictive eating disorder and extreme hunger, you shouldn't speak for people who fucking have and are struggling with eating disorder. What she is doing is healthy for people who struggle with ed because they have to do the opposite of what majority calls "healthy". She isn't speaking to "normal" people who doesn't have background of anything above. She is speaking to the people who are struggling with ed and she helped me so much to recover. I recovered as she rec9vered and now my swelling and bloating is going down slowly just like her. So don't you fucking dare say she is doing everything wrong and promoting wrong messages, when she is just saying the things that people who are recovering exactly need atm. Im not sure if your a girl or a boy but if your a girl i dunno if this will help. Since i dowloaded a monthly cycle tracker app i became more in tune with what was going on with my body. I realised that in the first 2 weeks before my period i would have insatiable hunger and my diet would be sabotaged so id have a binge. Then 2 weeks after no cravings and my hunger went away. I always thought for years that i just couldn’t stick to a standard normal “healthy” diet but then realised it was hormone related. It was like clockwork so i always go easy on myself during those 2 weeks. But everyone is different so might or might not be the same for you.

If they had watched more of her videos they would see she eats 90% whole foods. Her eating junk in this video is a commentary on how the pandemic is affecting people’s eating, it’s not representative of how she’s been eating in general.

@@The_Herniator what if she has a restrictive eating disorder or orthorexic habits? You're suggesting to someone, who you don't know, to eat 'healthy foods' but what exactly does that mean? Yes of course some foods are more nutritionally dense, however if someone feels they are only allowed to eat 'healthy foods' then this is restriction. Mental health is equally as important as physical health (and restriction is not healthy) - I suggest you either mind your own business or encourage people to listen to their body, cater to their own needs and find balance and happiness in this stressful time.

For anyone coming from long term restriction, the only way to recover is to face our fears. With any addiction, to recover you have to do the opposite of what the addiction wants you to. For example, someone addicted to alcohol can't have "just a bit" of alcohol, just like someone with an eating disorder can't restrict "just a bit." Therefore, we go "all in." For someone who has restricted for so long, food is medicine and you need more of it than someone who hasn't been restricting long term. This advice probably doesn't apply to people coming from a "normal" relationship with food. Her target viewers have changed. I just saw her older videos, and for someone with an eating disorder, that's the type of channel I would have avoided. A lot. This video helps me feel free, not guilty or label myself with my choice of "junk" food. Yes, for anyone with a healthy background, eat clean, treat foods are fine here and there. Once her weight and relationship with food stabilises, the will to restrict will die down and she will have food freedom and will most likely only want whole, nutritious food (compared to what people eat at the start of going all in). I don't know how long this will take so please don't judge her or her body for taking how long she needs to.

I binged and purged as a teen and was able to divert some of that through at-home HIIT. It helped me resist the urge to throw up but still left room for my mindset of matching my workout output with my calorie intake. Your Intermediate Lifting program was the first lifting program I’ve ever bought and prompted me to get a gym membership. It built structure back into my days during my first year out of college unemployed and job-seeking. It reminded me of my agency to take charge of things and change what was within my control, when I was demoralized at the things I could not presently change-a lack of job offer post-grad. And, most unprecedented, it encouraged me to eat more, rather than restrict and self-shame. I’ve already purged once since quarantine. But I’m keeping those thoughts at bay lifting at home and going for a walk at least once a day. I know you anticipate a lot of flack for addressing such subjects during a quarantine, but I want you to know how powerful your reminders and example are. To me. Thank you. For showing the good, the bad, and the ugly of your journey. For giving solid not saccharine advice on how to persist. And for being a minority voice of non-weight loss oriented fitness.

I'm truly sorry that you're still stuck in this ED cycle, but it sounds like you're doing all the right things to slowly pull yourself out of it. It is so incredibly hard to overcome an ED. I've been restricting since I was 15, and then when I was 25, I began an extreme cycle of restricting and binging, that took me 7 years to cure. It was completely out of control. I would go back and forth between consuming 5,000-10,000 calories a day, to eating only 500-800 calories a day. It made me feel powerless, and I wondered if I would ever feel normal when it came to food and my relationship with my body/weight. There were a few key decisions I made to help me break the cycle. 1) Talking to a wonderful therapist. 2) Writing in a journal every day. 3) Taking small steps towards my ultimate goal, as opposed to trying to fix everything at once. 4) Forcing myself to eat when I was hungry, no matter what, and stopping as soon as I felt satisfied. 5) Finally giving myself permission to stop dieting and losing weight. I just focused on maintaining my size and truly listening to my body for the first time. I wish you all the best!!

Right before the gym closure, I finally started seeing consistent results with weight loss, mentality, and strength gains in the gym. I felt like I was in such a good place, but not being able to go to work everyday, or the gym, and being stuck at home all day, I've experienced a really bad relapse in bulimia that I finally felt I had under control. Although I have had an eating disorder for over 6 years now, the last couple of years I have really experienced more control and stability in recognising triggers and accepting the times I have overeaten and just dealt with any binges when they occurred, and I was finally able to tell myself it was just one day and to get back on track tomorrow. But this is a really difficult time that I feel I've lost all control, so this video definitely helped reassure me because I am certainly feeling guilty of every single thing!

I had bulimia for years and I totally understand the struggle. It's VERY hard to break the habit/obsession/addiction. It's entirely psychological, so approach your mental issues before thinking about how your body looks physically. Working on mindfulness helps, such as daily meditation to help with stress and self discipline, along with repeating mantras to yourself. I personally have to look in the mirror and tell myself "food does not control me" over and over and I'm telling you it has helped so much with my eating disorders. I have a way better relationship with food, I eat when I'm hungry but I don't binge and make myself sick anymore and I'm still in good shape. Instead of being mad at myself if I ate like crap that day, I look at myself in the mirror (I mean this literally) and say that maybe I didn't have a great day and that's okay- I can do better tomorrow and just work on improving my self control one step at a time. Shifting my mindset has made all the difference in the world and I really hope you can take something away from this!

I feel you girl🤍 This is a really difficult time for people with eating disorders. I haven't relapsed in years and really thought I had bulimia under control and a pretty solid relationship with food but recently I've felt those nagging, negative thoughts come back. I guess what I've realized is that ED patterns can resurface during times of stress or emotional distress which is why it's so important to look after ourselves and be kind. It's not easy, but I know I can get through this and so can you🤍

Someone should eat if she/he is HUNGRY, not out of boredom. I like to eat, too, so if I would eat everytime I would like to, I would eat all the time and I would become obese (!) and ill. Eating "all in" made me obese in the past (my bmi was over 30 and my blood pressure was high in the first time in my life!). Now I eat when I am hungry and my weight is normal. My bloodpressure is low to normal again. No, I disagree. Eating when someone is hungry: yes Eating if somebody just "wants" - even without a hunger signal: no - this is the entrance for an eating disorder. Food is fuel, not an instrument to combat boredom.

I've struggled with multiple eating disorders and lately have been on the uphill battle to get better and I've made tremendous progress. the way my body took to restriction "worked" for a while but them my body held onto a lot of the fat and I was left with zero muscle and an overall really weak body. I've been doing much better and am around 140 lbs for someone whose 5'8 which isn't bad at all but I'm still high in body fat. I'm working on finding what works as far as exercising which is a recent addition to my health journey and found out that I'm still realllyyy undereating and then with the occasional binge i think its left my body really confused. but, i know I'm doing the right ting, I'm slowly reverse dieting with wholesome foods and trying not to get too wrapped up with the idea of gaining more weight. I'm not sure when ill have everything figured out and back to a healthy state but I'm going to keep working till i do, and do so the right way

While I do agree with most Steph, many people with eating disorders are ALWAYS hungry. That's how some people get to obesity. This quarantine shouldn't be an excuse to get to an unhealthy weight either. Edit: I'm down 21kg/46lbs from being clinically obese and now at a healthy weight. Food's always a struggle, but the leading cause of death in covid patients is the disease being mixed with being overweight (in age group 18-64). Please do stay at a healthy weight or no more than 5kg/10lbs outside of one!

And at this point they need more "self control" than other people. Also the kind of food interacts with the hunger signal. That is why e.g. simple carbs cause more hunger afterwards because of the drop of the bloodsugar level. Protein in contrast keeps satiety up and is better for weight management.

Unpopular opinion: if you have a healthy relationship with food you really won’t be putting on substantial amounts of weight right now. As long as you listen to hunger and fullness and eat reasonably healthy, you should be fine. This is a good time for people to face they definitely use food as a drug- for stress relief, boredom, sadness, etc. This isn’t healthy. I have not gained a single pound in quarantine.

Okay well the thing is not everybody has a healthy relationship with food. In fact, a majority of the people I know (specifically girls) struggle with some kind of eating disorder. Being in quarantine has not helped that for them including myself. I agree that people tend to use food as a drug for whatever it may be and I agree it's not healthy, but it's not so easy to fix. I'm happy for you that you haven't gained a single pound. But think of other people with actual eating disorders that are going through this too. Not everything is about yourself. The food she is eating in this video is actually meant to be addictive and can cause binge eating in a lot of people who struggle with it. When I overeat on healthy foods, I feel a lot less guilty and am less apt to fall into any sort of cycle of overeating - i can much more easily process it and move on. I also wish she had shared more tips about reflection and meditation, especially journaling about hunger and hunger signals. Thank you so much for the video!! I love how u mention both sides of the equation especially where exercise may be stress relieving for some but stressful in these times for others. And it’s wonderful that u bring up body checking and how it just isn’t helpful at all especially while everyone is at home. I’ve been recovering from an eating disorder and following your all in journey has helped me heal so much...thank you for your beautiful courage that you share with us ❤️❤️sending lots of love, stay safe and healthy ☺️

My family are actually eating less and have all lost weight. We just don't feel as hungry as normal and keeping super busy around our home and garden.....and school, and work!

Exactly man. Look at the comment I left on this video as well. She’s just eating trash food. Literally the opposite of a fitness influencer

This video helped me more and gave me better advise than my nutritionist. I really feel like the kind of empathy Steph has because she experienced this herself, it is makes it great and that’s what she offers to her community. Love this.

I wana say that I really love your channel. It’s really overall wellness as opposed to just fitness and eating. Thank you 💕
