Although we have never done an ocean cruise, I do enjoy cruise videos. Came across your channel and have to say, this is the most thorough Viking cruise food review I have seen ! From this and other videos, I think Viking will be our preferred choice for when we do make an ocean cruise. I know the price is not low end, by any stretch, but the quality seems very apparent.

I still think, Jules, that Hurtigruten Salmon and other fish is the best! I am such a picky fish eater and was never disappointed on the Nansen. Best to you, Sheila 😍

Duck breast for the win! Nice delicate portion. Never been on these cruise lines, but at some point in the future, am planning on emulating what you like. I greatly admire your taste!

😂 My veg son and granddaughter certainly wouldn’t agree with you. There was an entire pig on the lunch buffet one day and he nearly had a stroke. Didn’t Julia Child say Only the best people like food? or something like that. Admire your taste also. Yum, yum 😘

OMG, Kathe, you made my 2023! Part of the good looks is having Steve video the correct distance from my face! 🤣 I try a fast scan of what he took but THAT doesn't always work out! May I ask if you had Viking’s Silver Spirits beverage package or did you drink the included wines with your meals?

The last Viking cruise hubby and I experienced, I drank the wine included with dinner and had room service also provide it. If you’re someone who prefers the highest quality/cost wines, Viking has the silver spirit package.

Your videos are a literal feast for our eyes (& stomach’s!) i am a new subscriber and heading away soon on my first Viking cruise (Bangkok, Bali & Beyond) can I ask Sheila about how “formal” the cruise really is - I have had conflicting information in regards to the dress code - as an Australian , by nature we are fairly casual - would you consider the evening dining to be “smart casual” across all restaurants? Again - I have enjoyed your videos and looking forward to seeing more - thanks Danielle

Hi Danielle and welcome to my channel. Thanks so much. Smart Casual for men in long pants and shirt with collar, no flip flops,. For women, any kind of top (other than bikini 🤣), capri pants, long pants, casual dress, or fancy dress if you want, nice sandals, or any kind of footwear other than flip-flops. I throw in my $8 USD dresses, the kinds that are probably polyester, scrunch into a ball and come out unscathed. Only big no-no is shorts for both men and women. We are going on our 2nd Viking cruise at the end of February for a 15 day cruise to Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania. Our first Viking cruise was to Antarctica. I highly recommend that destination. After that cruise, hubby and I were hooked on Viking. The service and the food is beyond description. There is so much to choose from and even the buffet style food is awesome. Sushi, Sashimi and all kinds of specialty foods. There are no fancy dress requirements, no gambling, no gaudy shows. There are educational lectures about the destinations. Some tasteful live music and shows. Some movies. A great spa where the only cost is for massages. Viking is expensive but worth every dollar. Also, no children. No one under 18 is allowed.

Did I hear you correctly, Hurtigruten food is better?

Rude comment. Considering the age of passengers on this ship, you’d think you might consider there could be a medical issue. This woman deserves credit for giving her husband a good quality of life. Sad that how a stranger holds his utensils upsets you enough to make rude comments.
