At 8:17 Marenostrum and Kyoto are not Maya Palace restaurants they are located at the Maya Colonial section. Palace guest can book there for free but gonna need to walk there on a hot humid day. Only the Caribe, Rodizio, and Brasserie restaurants are in the far (beyond Hacienda and Mirador buffets) section of the Palace. If you are unlucky like us and got rooms in the opposite end of Palace then that would be quite a walk. I would say it's further than walking to Marenostrum and Kyoto.

Place is huge. Forget about underwater video. It's way too milky due to the sand created by a billion people. The pier is worth going to. Get your snorkels ready and just jump in. Bring cracker for the fish there are a lot of fish at the pier with much clearer water. Be careful body surfing at the beach cause there are a lot of rocks, can get ankle injury.

We ate A La Carte every night of our 7 night stay. We had to book 2-3 nights in advance. How ever one night we couldn't get a reservation for the French restaurant so we just walked up early and they found a table for us. I would start booking at check in though, because they fill up fast.

I actually like the Japanese one better than the seafood one. But the restaurants at Barceló Maya Palace are way better than than these. @@whodoyoudancefor

Which restaurant in all of the resort would you recommend had the best lobster meal. And ceviche if you tried any? We will be staying at the Maya Palace in July and want to be prepared with reservations.

I think the best was Caribe (seafood) . The steak house was prob my second favorite.

Not sure, we traveled 1 month before the travel restrictions changed so we didn't need anything. Last i heard you just need a negative test 3 days before traveling back to your country.

Hi, I have a couple of questions. I read that the restaurants have dress codes. Is that correct? Do you know what the requirements are? Also, we always hear to not drink the water, I noticed ice in your drinks, was that fine?

Ya they do have dress code, but it’s not super strict. Smart casual!!! Basically just no shorts or swimwear. I wore jeans and a t-shirt most nights. Buffett you can where your swimsuit. As for the water I alway drink bottle water. Never worried about the ice and have been fine.

They use purified water in the restaurants and at the bar. I saw them pouring water from purified bottles into the pitchers in the buffet. So when in a resort restaurant, it is fine. However, we do not drink from the tap, and we brush our teeth with bottled water. They bring bottled waters to the room every day, and if we needed more, we just asked for them at one of the bars. If we leave the resort and eat anywhere else, we always ask for bottled water or ordered other bottled drinks.

@@samb1972 You will love it. All drinks from the bar, all bottled water, all food is included. Lobster was even included when we were there. The only extra cost for food I can think of would be if you order a bottle of wine at dinner? I didn’t, but that’s pretty standard at resorts. There was extra cost for activities like snorkeling, scuba, parasailing, dolphins, water park, spa. But as far as any surprise fees, there were none that I can recall. It was not crowded at all when we were there! @livinit Can you recall any surprise fees?

@@sarahbryant9114 the only fee i can think of is the environmental fee that all hotels in MX charge. It $1-2 per night.

@@tashawnasanders77 the places that we have stayed that I would recommend, in order that I think are the best!!! Would be the following: -The Barcelo Maya Palace (has it all) - Occidental at Xcaret (right next to Xacaret park, nice lagoon, good snorkeling) - The Cozumel Palace (no beach, but great snorkeling, and great rooms and food) -Sandos Caracol Eco Resort (jungle/water park for kids) -Grand Riviera Princess (big property, lots of pools , nice beach, not good for snorkeling)

It was included at certain restaurant when i was there in 2021. I loved this place and have another trip planned for this year. Also I’m a travel agent and I bet I can beat anything you can find online. Let me know if your interested.
