My mother is 86 and terribly addicted to food. I’ll never know how she has lived to 86…she’s now a type 2 diabetic with a pacemaker…

Sad it is even legal for companies to be able to create foods that are addictive. We should put our resources into whole food.

I agree. I definitely have my addictions. I also knew a man who ,even on dialysis, was eating plantains behind his family’s back (plantain has ALOT of potassium). Food addiction is real but isn’t taken as seriously 🤦🏽‍♀️

THANK YOU DR. G. WE NEED MORE SCIENTISTS AND DOCTORS TO SCIENTIFICALLY EDUCATE THE PUBLIC. this woman is gold! she helped me realise that these substances are toxic addictive drugs and they make them that way, so once i start eating it i cannot stop. now i just do not go near it. period. the hyper nourishing protocol helps change your palate such that those drugs are now repulsive.

I watched a video where a woman said that she doesn't use Lawrys because it's too salty. She then shared how she makes her own less salty version. What got my attention is she added sugar. I thought surely there isn't sugar in Lawry's? So I went in my kitchen and looked at the ingredients in my bottle. And sure enough sugar is listed as an ingredient. I had no idea. Then I happened across a video by a nutritionist who said the food industry had realized a very long time ago that the combination of salt and sugar makes things taste better. So she mixes stevia in with salt to season what she cooks. I was always told that either you like sweet things (I like cookies, cake and baking) or you like salty things. I never thought I liked salty things. There's a certain dark soda that has two words in the name that both start with a "C." I didn't like that soda because it tasted salty to me. Now Pepsi on the other hand used to be my jam. To me it is sweet. But I noticed that I never saw anyone that I felt was truly healthy drink it or even the diet version. But yes food can be an addiction. I knew someone that was over 330 lbs, a diabetic and got around in a motorized scooter. She once told me that she would go to McDonald's for their fries, another place for their burger and then go to KFC to eat all of it together with their chicken. She also would go to the local fair to get fried twinkies and fried pepsi. She had sores on her body that just wouldn't heal. I was told it was because of the diabetes. And she was on dialysis during this time as well. She sadly died not very long after her 50th birthday.
