Dave is "always" a kid in a candystore :) He has such a great warm and energetic personality. One of those you allways want around.

This is how I would want to remember Mr Hawkins - constantly looking over his own shoulder at one of the greatest lead guitar players of all time, at one of the greatest bass players of all time, and at his own band mate, one of the greatest drummers of all time, then facing the audience and perhaps not realizing his own greatness. RIP Mr Hawkins.

The smile on Dave's face at the start of the song shows how he fully appreciates the moment he was in. Growing up listening to Zep and being influenced by John Bonham to be on stage 30 years later playing Rock-n-Roll with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones at Wembley Stadium did not go unappreciated.

He has grown to be a quite reflective and appreciative man as he has aged. Much more respectful of others in general it appears and he does love climbing on stage. The roar of the crowd draws him.

In case anyone out there didn't know Taylor does have his own band; 'Chevy metal' they're basically a cover band, but Taylor fronts the band usually singing while playing the drums, and also various other musicians well guest jam with them, Dave G of course being one of them, among others from time to time. Just putting the info out there for anyone who wasn't aware?

Taylor killed vocals and Dave killed drums. The Zep boys look like they were having fun. That’s what music is all about. It doesn’t have to be perfect, we’re not robots, and music has been processed so much in this day and age to take the human life,emotion, and rawness out of it. This performance was awesome 👏 🤘

How many times does anyone get to meet their childhood idols and them jam with them !

As a young teenage boy I used to play along to Zeppelin - banging old magazines with a couple of dinner knives - seeing myself as John Bonham. I can imagine Dave Grohl having done something similar - so, it's no wonder he's grinning from ear-to-ear. Go for it Dave!

I watched this video like 50 times already throughout the years and I always instantly recognize: THIS IS ABSOLUTE FIRE!!!! ONE OF THE GREATEST CROSSOVERS IN ROCK HISTORY. 😍🔥

Imagine growing up you're a huge Zep fan. Then imagine you become a member of the Foo Fighters. Then imagine you play on stage with Page and Jones. I came.

The joy on Dave’s face is a thing of beauty.

I was there that night. There were rumours that they were planning a surprise. No shit. I’ve been to some fantastic gigs in my time; final Jam gig in Brighton, Stereophonics in Cardiff and this year Chili Peppers in LA but the Foos at Wembley, Saturday June 7 2008 was the best of the lot. Sadly never to be repeated now.

You can see the pure love, joy and appreciation Dave and Taylor have to be jamming with Led Zep. The fact Jimmy and John would even PLAY with FF, just shows the mutual respect they've earned from the masters. The passing of the torch...

The amount of badassery on that stage is impossible to calculate. You've got one of the greatest guitar players of all time, one of the greatest bass players of all time, and TWO of the greatest drummers of all time. Three of the four are top-10 at their craft and Hawkins will be way up there by the time his catalog of work is complete.

Dave isn't a top 10 drummer of all time.. he flat out couldn't play this song properly and had to simplify it just to get through it.

I don't think either of them could be called 'one of the greatest drummers of all time'. Although Led Zeppelin had easily one of the best guitarists of all time, easily one of the best vocalists of all time, easily one of the best drummers of all time, and easily one of the best rock musicians in general (as well as bassists) of all time.

@@danielstephens7416 - My comment was "top-10 at their craft". Please list 10 drummers with a better catalog of work than Grohl. "Best" is always going to be highly subjective. One could easily make the case that not one rock drummer is top-10, including Bonham, if you hold jazz drummers in high esteem. My comments were really about rock and roll artists, which I thought was implied.

Taylor was amazing!!!! I am watching youtube of course...he also sings this song at the Kennedy Center Honors for Led Zepplin....and he's even dressed up for the performance

I’ve always wanted to ask a question to someone who was there. When I’ve been at a live show that is out on video later I always think “it’s amazing but not even close to how mins blowing it was in person”. How would you describe the feeling in the stadium when this all happened? Was it absolutely nuts?

Absolutely love it, Jimmy is still striking the guitar badass poses, albeit with a slight tongue in cheek grin. John Paul Jones acting cool, but admiring the large crowd/the moment. Dave is having the time of his life, as is Taylor. Just means a little more to see now that Taylor’s gone ❤😢

Really like Taylors vocals on this.. goes to show he's not just a great drummer.. rest easy taylor 🤘🤘 you will be missed..

I’m absolutely gutted. I just can’t fathom this. Rest in power, Taylor. We love you. ❤️

Holy Crap! Awesome! RIP Taylor...

What a fucking miracle for those who were there…. Taylor killed it, Dave killed it and page & Jones were legendary - as always. This is a priceless concert moment. Foo fighters along with real rock Gods. You can’t write this story - no one would believe it. Thank god for KZread!!!!!!!!!

Dave is literally living his musical wet dream over and over on that stage. He was so excited to do the mini solo at the end and he nailed it! I bet he remembers that on his death bed. Jimmy seemed to love his playing. What a great performance!

I love watching Jimmy play .. he shows he's having fun now more than he ever did!

R.I.P Taylor Hawkins a great singer and an even greater drummer. I was hoping we could see more of his vocal performance but im afraid there won't be any chance 😥
