No disrespect to anyone but as a young man from Melbourne Australia that followed AC/DC from pub to pub in the late ‘70s, the Foo Fighters have come closest to the raw atavistic energy of a very beloved part of my youth !

Malcolm Young is probably the best rhythm guitar player in rock history. I can't think of anyone who comes close, honestly. James Hetfield, maybe. Malcolm was an atomic clock. You couple that with solid drums and bass and it will always sound 50 times bigger than just 3 dudes in the rhythm section. like 80% of Angus' job was rhythm playing, too, though. AC/DC is/was just such a complete band. They played rock solid with no mistakes ever.

One of the biggest bands in the world though. Grohl's band has done it all themselves with no real 'help' from an industry that just doesn't market rock bands, nor would he 'whore' himself out in that way. Grohl doesn't have to be a virtuoso guitarist, most rhythm players aren't. He gets on and writes excellent songs.

You sir have been lucky to have experienced that. For me, a 24 year old from India, i crank this one, or rock or bust, or tnt, or...just anything AC/DC on me speakers. And when I do, i just cant help but get my head bobbing and start air strumming and feel the groove growing up in me body and in no time, my entire body is into it before I realise haha. Solid tunes by these folks from down under since way back when, to get one grooving even today. May you rock on for life just the way you did back in the 70s sir.
