Drop D Tuning! Hey everyone! I really enjoyed Foo Fighters performance on David Letterman so the video is based on that. I'm still working on your requests. They are tough so it's taking me a bit. The first strum at the beginning of the 3rd measure there's an extra accent on the 9-11 that I heard in the recording. Every other time the pattern is consistent throughout. For the verse sometimes Dave plays with just down picking as I do. Other time, he just strums up and down as he's singing. First chord, 9th measure I hear like a 4th fret E string (which is technically D string cause it's in Drop D) in the studio take. But live, Chris plays it like in my tab. Maybe the 4th fret is an overdub, which sounds cool also. Or maybe they didn't do it at all and it's imaginary, like in my head. lol. Does anybody else hear that though? And in the bridge part Measure 130, that part is a little lower and softer in the original mix but more apparent in the live version. Which is how I would approach it as well if I were to perform this song. Fun tune. Perhaps on the easier end of course! Is it a much needed tab? Probably not because there are many accurate tabs out there. Did any of you request it? No lol. BUT, maybe there's somebody out there that will pick this up in their recommendations and be like "Hey, I always wanted to learn this song but never thought to search it up!" And that's the goal here! Enjoy guys!

Amazing again! What about Wish you were here from Pink Floyd? Many people play that tune wrong?
Dude, this is the closest to the original as it can get on KZread up to now. I have tried several other videos but none of them is as close as yours. This means the world to me man, thank you!

I'm 52, been playing 2 months....practicing 1-2 hours a day doing chords and am slowly trying tabs (something from nothing which is very easy). How long before I nail this? Will I nail this or are my joints now too slow? Really enjoying playing. After 2 years as an 8 year old on a rightie, I'm now on a leftie fender and loving it.

I learned this song a year ago at about 3 months when I was 13. The chords are relatively easy, all that is truly difficult is the picking

As a guitar teacher, I'll give you the following advice: •Don't ask yourself questions like "how long before I can play such and such" or "are my joints too slow" or "am I too old" (FYI, Dave Grohl is a year older than you are!) Focus on learning properly, without rushing. • Use easy songs (even boring ones) to establish technique first, before you rush into learning songs that you simply aren't ready for. People who rush into learning songs usually end up playing sloppy, and each time they find a new song they want to learn, the process ends up being slow and arduous. • Use this song, and songs like it, as something to aim for, but in the meantime, try to realize that your improvements will be less obvious to you than they would be to someone who doesn't hear you practice each day. • Make your practice sessions *focused*. 10 minutes of intense focus is better than an hour of noodling and switching between various exercises. That "10,000 hours to master a skill" actually means 10,000 hours of focused practice, which in reality means an overall count of closer to 30,000 hours I'd estimate! • Try focusing on a particular technique during each practice session, even if your instinct is to try to fit a bunch of stuff into the session. • Use a metronome or drum machine (can find on google) and keep a notebook with a daily log of what tempo you reached. - If you can play an exercise/riff/etc ten times without a mistake, then the tempo is probably too slow to be beneficial (although there are times when you should practice slowly on purpose, such as when you want to focus on developing control over your movements). - Conversely, if the tempo is so fast that you make a mistake more than 3 out of 10 times, then it's too fast. Choose a tempo that is challenging but not so fast that you need to play it sloppily. If you do that, you're basically teaching your hands how to play sloppily. Slow is always, ALWAYS better than too fast. Everybody wants to play fast, but only a select few reach that point, because most do not have patience. But you? You can choose right here and now to have patience. Forget about age, forget about rushing. You have lots of time. You could be bette than Dave Grohl in a few years. He spends most of his time touring and songwriting, not practicing technique ;) But unlike him, you have those 1-2 hours a day to practice technique. One you get to a reasonable skill level, I highly recommend the following books: 1. Ross Bolton Funk Rhythm Guitar (you can also find the pdf, and I believe the video is on youtube still). Even if you don't like funk guitar, this book will make you a phenomenal rhythm guitar player. You'll need to be able to count 16th notes (1 e & a, 2 e & a, etc). 2. Frank Gambale's "Chop Builder". There's a video on youtube. It's kind of a parody of those 80s exercise videos, but the exercises cover pretty much every guitar technique you'll ever need. Good luck!

Hello, i've waited this cover from you... Everlong!!
Great cover, I tried learning some time ago but never got anywhere. This has inspired me to try once more at this song, also can you cover Heat of the moment it’s one of my favorites.
Awesome tab videos it would be really cool if you tabbed both guitar parts like you did in some past videos if there was two guitar parts that were significantly different
I've been trying to play this song for a long time and I finally found a video that I understand... thanks man
Looks really fun to play! Thank you for this!! :)

Keep the good work man! I really love the matching outfit in every single video you make 🤘

This has got to be the best and easiest Drop D song
Yes! 20 something years I've been playing this song and you are the ONLY person on the internet who shows how to correctly play riff #2 (interlude at 0:55 ) without contorting your fingers in some weird unnatural way. These YT Everlong covers have been a dime a dozen showing just the easy first section rhythm guitar and its been going on for for far too long. Bravo, man! I learned it using the Hal Leonard book as a guide years ago and it gave such a horrible example. Riff #2/2nd section/Interlude is such a critical part to absolutely nailing the song live and it has been a monkey wrench on my back for many years. --and a Like and Subscribe for YOU, sir. Thank you! :)

Oh my God YES. Just saw them on August 2, first concert since before the Pandemic and they KILLED IT. Been wanting to learn this masterpiece for a while now.
This is one of the first songs I learned to play and its nice to see I've been playing it almost 95% correct all these years ;) Thanks for all the tabs you put out there, you do awesome work! I would love to teach my kids how to play as they progress in age. Hey, great tutorial, but I have a problem, maybe someone can give me an advice. I feel like my guitar seems to be in higher tone, even if tunning is done right, I don't have any pedals, just NUX 8BT AMP that allows with multiple settings in terms of Tone, Gain, Gate etc., so I can switch it up, but still can't get the right sound. Maybe someone has an idea on what should I do, thanks!
can u do pls the four horsmen pls man
Though FIRE and flames please
How did you get to sound literally exactly like the song? Are you using any pedals?
need some "Reelin in the Years" or "25 or 6 to 4"
