I JUMPED IN 100 percent. Made two mistakes, but rapidly jumped in. Ninja Foodi, Rice Cooker, Smoked meats, Grilled meat, Soups, Fajitas, Salads, Roast, Sautéed. I knew I was addicted to sugars and fought it. Diets failed me. I AM LOVING IT! I am so satisfied! It is interesting to have so much food! Not being hungry ever. I started Weds. I've lost 7 1/2 pounds in 3 days. Probably lots of retained water. I feel amazing! No aches and pains. I chose life. The mind games I couldn't overcome before, but w what Lulu has shared on this like look at this or that is poison. I have no desire to go back. I have no goal to get to in a week or month or year, I am just going to let it come off naturally. I love the song! I love seeing how Lulu sees things as beautiful, delish, etc. UPLIFTING! GREAT GROUP OF LADIES. My husband is doing it w me to be healthy. Yeah! ❤️🌺

Hi everyone, this is such an awesome place to be. I grew up with food living with a German mom on one side and Portugese on the other, that is how I started my day as a child with sugar. Im totally addicted to sweets and never enjoyed drinking water. Well I have made it to 57 but now I am considered diabetic and my numbers are good so im doing something right, but like today I gave in at work with the monthly birthday party. I have been drinking water all day everyday this week and avoiding the sugar all week, until today. So at least I am at a start. I work in a kidney transplant clinic and Im a nurse and you would think I would know better, but im human and put all my time into my patients instead of myself. God put me in this clinic I believe to wake me up and now he has brought you all into my life. I didn't want to accept that this could be me, but here I am. So hearing you in this video say Acceptance just accept it. Your so right , and thats exactly what I needed to hear. So many things I am good at food I am not. Like alot of people here I have been on many different diets in my lifetime and I have all kinds of exercise stuff that I dont use. Now I have officially got the slap in the face and I need to wake up, if I don't. It's truly on me. So here I go. I have been fortunate to never have really had aches and pains. Then they started coming on. I have to say just this week just with the water and change in my foods I have slept better, im not all achey, I have more energy to want to do things and do things. If I have sugar forget it I can now see the difference in how it makes me feel. Thank you for having this channel. I have lost 10 lbs and I just need to keep going. Looking so forward to getting back out camping in my car. Thank you to you all for your stories I really enjoyed hearing them, they have helped me so much.

Hi Lu Lu, I seriously don’t care about eating all the perfect foods and I am not totally committed to a strict diet, no offense to you. I have great respect for you. In my mind, I can’t be that strict about anything . Maybe my overbearing, military father. Fortunately, although ten pounds overweight I am in good health. At least I am a strictly moral person and try to be kind to all I meet! Well wishes to you 💐

Hi everyone - so glad you posted this. We had a family situation that had me dropping everything and flying to the mainland, so was not able to join the zoom. I am thrilled to say though that I am staying the course 1000%, despite my daughter’s kitchen being under a complete renovation - no sink, and no stove ….. but I have a fridge, plus the entire family eating out 3 meals a day, it is not for me and doesn’t serve me well. 😆. I’m excited to return home to the islands and see if there’s any change on the scale - have lost nothing for over 5 weeks but not about to buckle. I’ve cut the dinner grain to see if that helps at all. Working out never less than an hour a day. Thank you Lulu from the bottom of my heart for being such an inspiration. Yesterday went on a 3.5 mile hike with my brother and afterwards he wanted to stop at a favorite brewery as we haven’t seen each other for many months, and had lots of catching up to do - he and his wife both had beers plus fries and I was more than content with a seltzer water. Win, win…….. WIN!!!! Looking forward to seeing you all on 3/21. Hugs & aloha from Rhona (Hawaii) on zoom.

I am so happy to have found this re-broadcast of the Thursday zoom. When I think about the boredom of food, I also think of the challenge of change. I think Lulu hit on a spark for me when she said something about having creativity or excitement in other places instead of food. When I look at my life, I find that most of my enjoyment was found in eating highly processed and satisfying foods that were not good for me. Looking outside of the creativity of recreational food it sometimes feels like a wasteland. I don’t know where to take my joy and creativity if it’s not with Designer foods. This is an awakening for me. I need to get excited about other things. Take my creativity that I used to put in cooking somewhere else. Wish me luck.

hi Trudie!! I used to pride myself on the gourmet meals I would prepare for guest, an amazing cook if I do say so myself!! but it was heavy food, butter, cheese, pasta, fat, fried, creamy sauces, etc. anybody can make food taste good with all that stuff lathered all over it. but now, I cook clean and simple and it's all delicious and, truth be told, I don't even want to cook for guests anymore. I just cook for me and then get out there and enjoy life!!! there is so much more than food to entertain!!!

The way I lost 30 lbs was by reading the book "The Skinny Gut diet". It's about all the hidden sugars in packaged food and also in high sugar fruits and some vegetables. Keep all sugars/hidden sugars to 8-10 teaspoons a day. And watch the scale after that to see the pounds start dropping off! Getting started is hard because shopping in stores will take forever because it's ALL hidden sugars (don't get me started on Costco!). It works like this. On the nutrition label, look at the 1st carb number. Then, subtract 1st fiber number from the carb number. For instance, carb 37, fiber 2= 35. Now divide 35 by 5 ( because 1 teaspoon = 5 grams), and you get 7 teaspoons of "hidden sugars" in one serving, and this can be on a package that says 0 zero! Food labels don't want you to do the math and understand that carbs turn into starch that turn into sugar. But there's hope. Every fiber number, whether it's on the label or what you add to your plate yourself, cancels out a carb number. Like tacos, for instance. Corn tort carbs get canceled out by the amounts of lettuce you use(watch out though, tomatoes are high sugar) I'd have so much lettuce you couldn't see the tacos! Eating this way to finally lose all that misunderstood weight will keep you fuller all day/ night, stuffed even😊. Where I used to work, teachers were amazed how I was looking week after week, with really no effort on my part. Then someone started doing it too, and boy did she get her girlish figure back in no time! And she was astonished how fun and healthy it was. Because there is a connection between the gut and the brain, the good bacteria, now without all the sugars, start sending signals to the brain it wants more of the good and doesn't desire the sugars anymore. It works the other way, too. Bad bacteria in the gut wants more sugars. Get the book ladies❤. Forgot to add. Once you get target weight can up daily sugars 10-12 or 10-14 teaspoons but if a pound or two comes back on go back 8-10. This is an amazing way to eat because you now know how to take it off if you choose.

Also, it’s all about mind set. Think that the food is for our nourishment. Of course it’s good to mix it up a bit, but it’s just food. It’s over in such a short period of the day. Think of other things to do after eating and not thinking about all the foods you use to eat. I’m working on this myself! 😊

I definitely don't resist, but slow to conform. My wins/celebrations for the end of 2023 into 2024. No potato chips, crackers or cookies. Theres a whole cabinet door in the kitchen that just sits empty. I still go over to 4 months later and open it up and look in. I finally put the jar of peanut butter in their so if I'm extremely desperate I can enjoy it with sliced apple or banana. The biggest thing for me is just scheduling to sit down 3 times a day to eat a meal. I have everythig prepared and ready to enjoy so life is easy. But varied hours at work make breakfast and lunchtime difficult to lock in place. Thank you Lulu for the inspiration to have food prepared for the week making snacking less of a thing. BUT, I still go to that empty snack cabinet!! 🍎🍌🍐🫐🍒

Hello my sweet Lulu, Thank you so much for this video, you made me cry, because I have been missing our zoom calls because I have been feeling like such a failure at my journey to losing weight. I haven’t been able to stick to it and a lot of it is what the one lady was saying about getting bored, and your right they are other ways to get out of that boredom, I think I can get back to it, I need to be back on the zoom calls because they are so inspiring, there are probably a lot of people who feel the same as me. Thank you , thank you, thank you, I adore you and I adore all of the lovely ladies we meet with See you soon, Your pal, Susie 😊❤

When I get tired of broccoli I do various other vegetables. I like peas or green beans raw and or sautéed. I have found that if I eat something crunchy it helps me feel fuller. Also if you fix the broccoli a different way it gives it a different flavor.

Lulu I thank you. I have been in recovery for 25 years. I understand about the importance of not negotiating. But, I feel you are judging, that there are the big I's and the little You's In the 12 step program, we have a third tradition, that means the only requirement to be part of the fellowship is a desire. I am happy you are resolute. and perfect in your life style. I wish you well.

I am just sharing my own personal experience and providing an example of what is possible for anybody. and everybody just chooses for themselves!! there is other ways to achieve this and if others find their own way, and it provides the results they seek, then they've got the gift too!!

Although I joined a while ago this is the first zoom meeting I’ve listened to. I knew I had weight to loose but I was constantly in denial as to how much weight I had gained. When I went shopping and my size was too tight I would think that it’s just made small. 😂. My scale has given me a reality call. So 100% commitment to my health from today and no more shopping for pants with expanding elastic waist. My body deserves to be better taken care of and my mind needs the peace of mind of not questioning whether I will be able to stick to clean living

Regarding your last speaker Victoria: If you are a diabetic taking diabetes medication, especially if you are on insulin, and you are now waking up during the night craving sugar, I wonder if, because of being on this diet and losing weight, you might need an adjustment to your medications? If you have too much insulin in your body, it might be calling for sugar to help regulate your body. I had a secretary who was a type one diabetic, and I always kept orange juice or some type of sweet on hand for her in case her medications caused her to have a sugar crash. Hope this helps.

Ice cream was created to be a rare treat: a summertime cone in a park, or a once-a-year birthday thing. We don’t need “alternatives” as it should not be an everyday food: only a rare treat, and, we don’t need it at all.

Cathy, (the third speaker?) boredom is a disguise that your sugar addiction uses. It has caught me out many times using that sneaky disguise. The salsa sauce sounds unusually (suspiciously?) delish - maybe recheck the ingredients? Sugar comes in many disguises and names now, I think you said you could drink it down? I get that with some ingredients. If it is very processed, it might be undermining you? Just a thought from my experience. Sugar addiction is so sneaky.

I agree, the boredom is not really boredom. and I wonder perhaps if there is no sugar in the salsa, it could be loaded with oil/fat.

I loved the idea of cutting some prep time down by buying some frozen or prepped food like diced sugar free ham from deli, etc. Going to buy a veg slicer. Going to experiment w some recipes made from veg etc verses sugar sauces in store bottles.

I struggle daily with my weight and eating correctly. I have a spouse who binges and then fasts. I do not do well with fasting. I’m in an inactive lifestyle with my spouse. I do move but not enough. One positive meal a day works for me. Don’t bring junk in but he goes out and brings it home. This does not mean I need to join him. Usually I crochet and move to another space when he’s on a binge. I daily ask god to guide me through my day. He’s usually just meat but while we are in Florida he likes to eat cheap tv dinners. Does not eat vegetables or fruit to him it’s poison. He’s a keto guy. 😊
