The concept of Values-Based Leadership is another step in the process of effective leadership and the understanding of their followers. Understanding the values of a follower also implies that leadership maintains their own set of values, which followers must be able to identify in leadership. If those values are suspect or gravitate toward bad or toxic leadership, followers must understand how to have courageous conversations with leadership, while considering the means, motives and proper methods to be heard and effective in those conversation.
