Leadership is about understanding followers and lead effectively; however, leadership is also about self-reflection and understanding what type of follower works best, based on the leadership style. Leadership is also about understanding what type of followership style a leader cultivates, based on their leadership style. By understanding both sides of the leadership/followership relations, both sides can become more effective and help the organization move in a positive direction. Leaders must lead, and help followers contribute and grow.
