The more I listen to this the more I'm reminded of Elisha who became such a powerful prophet. How can I be happy doing what I'm good at for the rest of my life if it doesn't bring me joy at all? My whole family was amazed when I drew my first drawing in childhood. They say I'm gifted in art but i don't enjoy it at all. I never draw because I WANT. I draw only when it's needed for school or when somebody asked me. I get annoyed easily. I wanna be a musician but my mom said the same thing as Steve. ''Be better at your gift, not your passion.'' ''You're good at art and you can have a great future instead of choosing something you're not good at all and something that won't get you anywhere.'' At the age of 4, my grandma taught me an easy melody on piano and I fell in love with music. When I was 6, I decided to become a singer. Passed approximately 10 years and I still want to be a singer. I wasn't gifted in singing but improved so much through the years. I become better at my passion and I enjoy it so much, I wanna do it for the rest of my life. But I'm confused because of Steve Harvey's words.

Two years back I was here trying to figure out what my gift was. The fact is, you have to consult God to know what you're gifted at. It's so hard to discover your gift because you do it with so much ease that you don't even realise you're super good at it. Back to me, I've always had a way with words and I had no idea I could actually help people out with their website content. To cut the story short, three months into my freelance writing career I had replaced my day job and was earning twice as much.

Mark Cuban pretty much said the same thing; "don't follw your passion, follow your efforts"...because you can be passionate at something, but still might not be good at it. If you find yourself putting a lot of your effort into something, chances are, you might actually be good at it, and if you consistently put effort into it, you just might be good enough to thrive and profit off of it. Cuban also said, if there's one thing people like, it's being good at something. But you gotta make sure you're putting in your effort, because "the one thing you can control, is your effort."

Antonne Turner gifted people also probably don’t put in the *effort* either. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work. Like Cuban said, the only thing you can control is your effort. You have to put in the effort to not be “outshined”. Plus, it’s not always about not being outshined, it’s just about succeeding at what you’re good at. A lot of people are “outshined” but still successful.
