I helped teach a computer science course in college as an AI when the professor had to go on trips. There was a student who obviously wasn't very engaged. I talked to him. He told me his parents had forced him to go to college and he really wanted to do trades work with his hands. I told him he shouldn't be at college if he doesn't want to and encouraged him to do what he wanted to do. I got an email from him 3 years later that he dropped out and worked as a contractor. He's been super fulfilled by the work and thanked me for giving him the courage to go against his parents' wishes.

So true. It's foolish to assume an 18-year-old will pick a career and then stick with it the rest of their entire life. I've worked in retail sales & management, then moved on to being a published writer, and my next career path is higher education teaching. We move, we change, we flow with the times. What appealed to us at age 25 might not be financially/ mentally/ emotionally fulfilling at age 50.

Shit I'm going after my Dreams right now myself it's hard but I keep my Faith in God to keep goin 2023
