In [Follow My Lead] episode #03 I talk about ‘Biggest Part of Me’ from the 1994 Take 6 album “Join the Band” (our most expensive album). Originally written and recorded by the group #Ambrosia 1980.
From the moment I heard this song in 1980, I knew I wanted to sing it… 14 years later Take 6 decided to do it, I wanted to put everything I had into it.

This is my song ❤ I sang it to each of my daughters when they were born. Now that they’re adults 32 & 20; they both sing this song with such a mellow tone I tear up but this song lives on forever❤.

Thanks for taking time to break this down. All these years never knew the story behind it. I actually sang it with a group years ago and it's deceptively complex. ✌🏿

You know what's crazy Claude?.I never thought to consciously show my teeth more, or being cognizant of my teeth, while singing in the higher registers, until I watched this..WOW. you just improved my voice in 4 minutes, eventhough (no pun intended) I've been singing 38 years!

Awwww... showing some teeth worked!!! 🤓 That's how it is when you are an artist of any type...you don't rest until it's right. But then once you've got it, you've got it!

Thanks for doing this series. Really enjoy the back story and insights into the classics. It's awesome when you give us a little sample of what a different approach on the vocal would have sounded like. I can't imagine the Michael McDonald take on that song, would have completely changed a classic.

I love that rendition of the song , I will say it’s equal if not better than the original. I love that your critical of yourself and this pushes you to do exhale even more

Good story! Love the series! As much as you definitely sound like Michael McDonald I always thought you had a bit more of that James Ingram kind of sound, especially like in the high "howl" sort of falsetto you two sound identical lol!
