    Please try & remember to tell us the voltage & ink you’re using. My black does NOT come out like that on fake skin. And when I move my hand as slow as you it chews up my canvass. Just trying to pinpoint my problems. I’m very new to the game & a perfectionist. Thanks!!

    If he was to tell you his voltage you’d need to run the exact setup he has, cartridges then also move your hand at the same speed he does. Voltage is all dependent on how fast you can comfortably move your hand.. Daniel does explain this in some of his other video in depth. From what you’ve mentioned the problem would be you voltage is too much for your hand speed, lower your voltage to start then slowly get faster.. Chewing up the fake skin would mean to much time in one spot so machines running to fast for your hand speed at the moment. I hope this helps.

    Thanks for the feedback! In episode 1 I explained why I personally don’t like to use a blow dryer. I don’t personally like to use a blow dryer for many reasons not just 1. For me for starters when I used a blow dryer I was sitting there for a couple of hours doing back and forth motions using cool air, and warm air, I’ve tried both. Upon blow drying from my experience it’s truly not worth the work or time to sit there and blow dry the stencil. To make matters worse when I would use a blow dryer my stencil would still wipe off and id lose it completely, and on top of that the warm air from the blow dryer creates like bubbles in the practice skin and when this happens the practice skin raises and bubbles up. For me personally I would much rather wait the 24 hours and come out with a super clean stencil over having to invest anytime at all into holding a blow dryer. While it’s drying I can be pulling lines on a scratch skin haha. This is only my personal perspective and opinion, to each their own.

    I understand this is just practice, i tattoo so a real tattoo youll have to start from right to left n not wipe but tap/dab wen cleaning the tattoo while tattooing,i do lettering so i recommend to practice on paper using pens n markers, you really dont have to leave that stencil on that practice skin to dry lol a hour or 2 should just do , if u where to use stencil stuff i stencil of the deodorant it would dry wit in minutes but i understand is for learning purposes

    Hmm I’m not sure I agree with you on what you stated. I personally feel that starting on a stencil is 110% subjective. I’ve seen some artist start in the middle, some at the top, I’ve seen some tackle the harder parts first, I’ve seen some do the spots that hurt more first. I don’t feel there is 1 specific way to approach a starting point of a tattoo as there are soooooo many variables to consider. Also 1-2 hours never cut it for me when I tried applying the stencils for a 1-2 hour time frame. I state what I do in my videos because it’s the technique and applications I use. 12-24 hours is definitely a better way to go for me and it has yet to let me down. Prior I would wait 1,2,3,4,5, hours and I would still lose the stencil depending on the skin I use. Stencil stuff causing unnecessary bleeds on fake skin which is exactly why I use speed stick. I like to do detailed work so I can have bleeding in my stencil , however I do use stencil stuff on human skin.

    I’m also an artist. Well I’m an apprentice and so far 90% of the tattoos I get requested are almost this exact same style script or a slight variation and I honestly will start left to right sometimes alll depending on the style/placement and that’s supposedly a big no no because I’m right handed. But it works great for me. To each their own brotha. Don’t be like those old school gate keeping artists. That’s what you sound like.

If I were going to apply lettering to a cake I would freehand it in this method, where I would outline the text and fill it in. To me that seems like the most logical approach that would also look the cleanest but that’s just my opinion. I do feel like this approach can definitely be used on a cake 🎂

  • @DanielYuck

    @DanielYuck

    Жыл бұрын

    I wouldn’t worry so much on how deep we are visually going but more so worry about how we can apply a line cleanly while causing minimal damage. I would not recommend to out 2 together as we are going to have to press down pretty hard to make it through which is not how we actually tattoo on human skin. Being able to apply a clean line on just 1 piece of fake skin is where we want to be. We don’t want to be heavy handed when we start and think that’s how we tattoo, you know? I feel if we learn to apply clean lines to a single piece of fake skin we can begin to gain a bit more understanding.

  • @DanielYuck

    On most cartridge needles I would personally say it does! It’s funny you ask this question because a couple of days ago I was trying out a new needle and I used the needle with the hole facing the opposite way over what I normally use, and the needle inside the tube would rub against my finger. So because of this reason I say yes and I personally hold my needles all the same way doesn’t matter the configuration or anything like that. I actually made a video where I show how I hold my machine and in this video it shows the direction I place the needle hole That video is right here m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/k5iA2qd8pdWtl9Y.html Should you have any questions at all don’t hesitate to let me know.

    That will range from person to person, setup to setup, etc. I wouldn’t be able to tell you a voltage to use because again I’m not certain on multiple variables. What I can say is that when I line I use a pen style tattoo machine like the CNC Q1,Q2, WE, etc and I typically and lining at about 7.5 volts. I rarely go above that voltage for lining with the 11RL. 7.5 volts is all I personally need for a smooth saturated line and workflow.

    Hey Daniel yuck my man. How is it that your needle is not going a little deeper and you are still doing some nice lines right there. It' like you only sticking the tip of the needle and that's all.. When I try it that way it doesn't look that way instead I have to go a tiny bit deeper..

    Hmmm allow me to try to explain. I do use the tips of my needles , I never force the needles into the skins, it’s more of a natural instinctive action. I essentially listen and feel for that breaking of the skin and now when I pull I line, listening and feeling for that vibration becoming 2nd nature. I feel knowing what I am looking for helps me to pull these sort of lines. We also want to be mindful of the angle in which we hold the tattoo machine as well as that will also impact the lines appearance and potential saturation. I’m also super mindful of my hand speed and voltage , if these aren’t aligned needle depth still won’t yield the desired results. I made a video on 1 way 1 can go about improving line work and that video is right here m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/q6KrsbKOqZyZYbw.html I also made a video on hand speed and voltage matching which is available right here m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/lat3tMSDZ6u6dbg.html There are multiple variables to consider upon pulling lines. Should you have any questions along your journey please don’t hesitate to let me know, I’ll do my best to assist you in the best possible direction 🤝

    DIY as in you made them yourself? It would depend on what ingredients.... not all ink ingredients are safe for human skin

    I find regular carbon paper better for fakeskin if you havent got a stencil printer, you dont get a reversed image to redraw but i go over it all with a sharpie that handles a fair few wipes once dry but ultimately comes off, coconut oil is great for cleaning fakeskin of ink for presentation and high alcohol hand sanitiser removes a stencil pretty well, both are very cheap and ok for human skin also but only use the coconut oil as cheap aftercare moisturiser.

    Are you going to wait 24 hours on your client when you do tattoos? You really dont have to wait a whole day just to start it. Dont let your self in to bad habits and save your own time . Everything youre doing is a little extra try not to over think this art form is very simple if learned correctly. Youre doing great just dont over complicate it. And if you dont want to smear the stencil just start left to right and dap any excess ink out the way instead of wiping. Save your time because time is valuable

    I think you may have misunderstood. This video is fairly old now and at this time when I was using this fake skin I would place my stencil down and wait 24 hours to dry on fake skin. I now have a new method which allows me to dry stencils on fake skin very very fast. I will list the video link below. kzread.info/dash/bejne/o6iHzbubppS2qdI.html Human skin is very very different and waiting 24 hours for a stencil to dry on human skin is unheard of and something I personally have never done. When I apply stencils to human skin I typically leave them to dry for about 30-45 mins. In a nutshell the more details that are in the design I will let it sit for about 45 mins. If a design is more simple I would let it rest for about 20-30. Furthermore from personal experience there is nothing easy about this art form. I feel when it comes to opening human skin to input ink there isn't anything easy about that. I would much rather my artist be more cautious with their workflow and conductivity over someone who takes this art form lightly. Thats just me take on it. Tattooing is a dangerous art form especially when we take it lightly as you've mentioned.
