Folkestone Warren Tunnel 5
This historical documentary series was filmed some time ago!
The tunnels today are now locked and are not accessible to the public!
This week we head 60 feet down into the ground into water drainage tunnels. These tunnels are collapsing and constantly flooding with fresh spring water.
These tunnels are locked and only accessible by key, but to be honest I can understand why!

The sort of place you might benefit by wearing at the very least lightweight 'bump' caps, as used by dockers and railworkers etc. I've caught my head on rusty metal before, and it took ages to heal. It's just a thought. We're not nagging, just looking out for you. Hundreds of us, who love your endlessly fascinating and thrilling videos. Are those sandbags full of concrete? It used to be common practice, to make water defences out of bags of concrete, which harden permanently after getting wet - it's good, because you can cram the sacks into odd-shaped spaces when dry. Looks like clean water down there, too. Nice one, gents.
This guy deserves more subscribers
Excellent stuff, thanks for taking us along gentleman, what a great tunnel system 👍🏻
another great vid from u and chris thumbs up
your channel is so wicked, so glad i stayed up late last night and came across it randomly! great work, stay safe lads SB
Another great video guys. 👍
Great video guys 👍🏼 That looks dangerous for sure :) Thinking about tackling 'the pipe' btw! 😬
Awesome stuff guys!.Subbed
When eggshaped tunnels collapse, you've got some serious forces acting on the "shell". Twisting particularly.
still loving the videos. I hope you reach 100,000 subs by the end of the year
loved it another great vid
I am such a coward. I won't even go 3 km of this building. Great video
Awesome video
Good exploring 👍
Awesome guys! Risky adventure ;)
Hi guys. Hope you both ok. I wish you would wear some kind of safety helmet. Am not being H&s, but I had 20odd years working down coal mines and when you bang your head it bloody hurts. Got to ask this question, as I am into the paranormal. On any of your, expedetions, have you heardor had anything unusual happen, especialy in the ww2 older tunnles?

Malcolm Chapman When I worked for one of the many shipyards on the West Coast we decommission the USS Okinawa (hospital ship). A lot of marines died on that ship during Vietnam. there was a deck with morgue-drawers as big as the hangar deck on an aircraft carrier from deck to overhead |- 20'ft.-| high. There was not one person on our crew that didn't have a Ghost story in which they were talking to a sailor and suddenly he was gone. the habitability was already gone and then it goes to be moffballed up in Bremerton Washington where it is manned by us six-man crew. A ship the size of a city block. They have stories to tell more so than us. But there were workers that refused to continue on that Job.

Malcolm Chapman he's the boss it's only a hard head job if he says so I don't know if he's using work comp insurance or not but it doesn't look like it I know I wouldn't.

That story is worth of a call in on Coast To Coast AM. I read somewhere that there is a connection between water and ghost sightings and paranormal events I personally am inclined to believe it.
love your guy's videos.i was watching this on an Oculus Rift at my friend's house the other night and felt like I was right there in the tunnels with you. had to check my pants and see if they were dry! keep up the brilliant work, mates! Cheers from a yank fan from across the pond. If you ever end up in the states, visit Ohio and I'll take you to a few of my favorite abandoned locales!

Watch out for gas too chaps!
shows you how good your videos are, and how many people you know now to get access to a locked location
I notice that you picked up a brass arrow, this was used against a hardwood scales as slip indicators. I enjoy the videos, you should consider getting an Oxygen Indicator for you safety.
Fascinating place, loads of different construction methods spanning different eras. That collapse looked insane though. Cracking video again.
Brilliant 👍🏻
good video guys you are to brave sometimes better be carefull dude !!!
Great explore guys(as usual).. really interesting to see the different methods of shoring /sleeving being used.same kind of adit used many years ago in hard rock mining.in cornwall etc,. to take the water away from the workings... brilliant work . oh by the way..ha ha beware of the water ...it''s wet lol keep up the great work .

You have spirit with you down there.
These tunnels are frighteningly fantastic. 😦 😦 😦
did i hjear what soudned liek a train going by at 12:13 are you somehwere near the euro tunnel or something to that effect
Nice video, still really wanna try and team up with you guys sometime.
That wasn't too much mate. Crawling through tight collapsed sections though, that is. I only did it once, water pouring through cracks above. Bit scary. Good video matey..
The corrugation in the walls causes the ping ping ping sound. I have noticed it on buildings with that corrugation on the exterior when I stomp or clap my hands.
Being in gamemode spectator would be awesome here!
Definately a little giggle at 1.59. I wouldn't go in there if you paid me lol. Great vids though, really getting into these vids lately.

Good to see that you are sober Ian .. lol cheers mate..

Well done boys,and very dangerous
Cracking 👍
That iron item you found might have been a wrought iron fence topper, washed down the drain.
Didn't crawl through the other areas, I would have...I always look at that stuff as I'm here might as well...LOL
Nice explore chaps but be safe
Are the vertical shafts for air? Do you know of they go to the surface, and are they in all the tunnels?
@IKS-Exploration

Probably for ventilation
Is there a tracker you can wear underground so when you come to the surface you can see how far and where the tunnels go to?

IKS Exploration Wow i didnt think YOU of all people would answer Thank You!
They probably have put those lights there when they were installing drains to the tunnels because if the spring is flooding above ground wouldn't it make sense to put all the excess water into disused tunnels to stop flooding?
the water looks nice and clear, care for a sip?
Good to see your still finding places to video. Shame that vandals, drug users and dumb kids have caused the blocking up of most tunnels. Been in a few over the smokey' (don't wanna say were for obvious reasons but you may know the place by the name), been in a couple that surprisingly you haven't been in. One was a long set with multiple floors and the other was shorter but very odd with bricked rooms. Be great to see then covered though I understand hey may have been sealed since. Great videos and hope you can keep it up as you are one of the very few archiving these tunnels before one day they are no more. Hi from Whitfield. :)
If that is still in use it could do with some maintenance and repair.
Not a chance in hell would I go down there. You guys are crazy. I hope someone knew where you were at.habe fun guys.
cool vldeo
Shares are very nice, thanks a lot.. I saw that you are entered to bunkers or tunners without gas mask, but there is radon gas over there. You know that radon gas is colorless, odorless a dangerous gas. Are you taking any precautions in this regard?? I advise you to be more carefull for this subject.. Best regards Ugur Karakas/Turkey
I wouldn't want to be in that tunnel when its raining...
If you tied those lights up let them dry out they might work
where do you find these places?

How deep was the mud on the floor? Surely whoever used these tunnels back in the day didn't walk around all stooped..
ian water is normally wet. great video but you really should invest in a gas detector
All I can say is...rather you guys, than me.

I think it's a good job that they use 3/16 galvanized ",Johnson decking"(or older equivalent) for commercial buildings and simply slid them over after pouring 60"ft. further down they rolled the decking in a "shipyard grade roller. and I hope they left it in place I wouldn't want to be the one to remove it but I don't see a weakness unless there is no reinforcement bars in the concrete. I left the hose running in my backyard in the next morning there was water in the living room and I thought," crack slab!"" I think that concrete is significantly better it is hydraulic concrete and it's not going anywhere in our lifetimes water or not.
11:50 in the mud, i think thats where the "hee-hee-hee" came from
I love the videos but I despise the clickbait titles. I'd rather you told us the date you were there and maybe a little caption or something instead of this. It bugs me but again, I love the videos.
Too bad the lights don't work that were installed in it.

like something from a horror movie lol
Put in a claim you got blue minerals forming!
Forgot to ask do you ever check the weather before you explore,I would think some of the tunnels you go through must flood at times due to rainfall?Fucking nutters ,ha ha ha,magic.
Chaps I will say it again, your fucking nuts,I know you take care, but I feel better asking you to take care, love your work,as usual, awesome, fucking nutters, one love.

You definitely can hear what sounds like someone laughing about 2 mins into the video. sounds like a little girls voice
Second? Lol
its all clay, chalk is clay
Probably should wear a helmet of some kind, plus you should check for gas,
I can't tell if the videos titles are deliberately this clickbait and he's poking fun at it, or if they are genuinely this bad.
@genericusername6644

Owen It is only really bad if their is deception in the thumbnail / title. Both are accurate so I don't see a problem.
It seems a pointless to me to "explore" these drains. I understand the war related shelters and tunnels but this just seems a boring featureless drainage tunnel. What was the attraction, appeal or draw to be in them?
@adr-richard5581

I guess it's the appreciation of seeing something you would otherwise never, ever get see. It's also the element of surprise, there could have been anything down there. I would have used a marker though (not sure if they did) as I wouldn't want to get lost in some of these huge underground systems we have in the UK.
