..as a bass player , I have been fascinated with Foley for some years now. I DO hope I get the odd chance to hear him live some day. I think my soul needs that....

I saw Foley & Miles play in Sydney in 1988. I have not, nor will I ever forget that gig. One of the most extraordinary experiences of my life yo.

How does one of the most amazing bassists of our time, end up working at an airport? Only kidding, what a musician and what a down to earth guy.

Miles had so much to offer to the world of Music, he had a magical ear for talent, he recruited some of the greatest artists to play in his bands, two of those bands had some of the finest musicians at the time and many went on to create stellar groups of their own, I have been fortunate to have seen Miles live on three separate occasions, the last concert was his last band with the fabulous Foley and the great Garrett.

I had the distinct pleasure of attending The Recording Workshop with Foley, in fact we shared the same house together with 2 other guys. Foley turned me on to Catoon music. Never really thought too much about it before Foley said to me, "listen to how the music is telling the story and how it makes the characters stand out more" .Foley was a friend and a hell of an influence to me. What's happening Joe!!!

One of the greatest joys of my career was to be present when Foley did his thing in the studio on the other side of the glass. He’s uniquely himself….brilliant

Foley plays a superb high-octaved bass with that piccolo vibe that made him turn richer Miles Davis' music. I sincerely have never saw anything as strong and original like this. He played both in a 'ballad' vibe or raw solos, that four string LeadBASS with much fire. He's the unique on this, and an extraordinary bass player as well, when he plays traditional tuning. His wild subtle solo in The Senate after Miles' is very powerful. {Carlos Bill, formerly Ken Maynardi Zozaya, bass player}.
