that part where you are folding like lines across and up and down in the giant paper --- I have reached that 'level' of origami and did it once when making a centaur with a bow and arrow --- but I did that once and have tried to make that centaur again --- only to give up in the process of make the horizontal and vertical folds. I now have several large sheets of paper at that point with the horizontal vertical folds but I am stuck there--- I do have and make lesser complex origami "things" that I can fold easily of my own design - that centaur I made took about 5+ hours to fold and I could not be disturbed --- but this here of 41 hours of folding omg intense focus going on--- wow-- I am wowed. at some point I thought watering the paper might be helpful in adding something to the origami this is a great thing this use of water like this I never knew that was a thing with origami. At my first look of the final work here I thought it was several pieces of paper not just the one square thinking yeah that's nice but anyone can do that with a bunch of pieces of paper doing paper mache, this is not that -- this is classic origami that is beyond normal origami - so far beyond -

I hope you will donate this to an art museum so all can marvel at this testament to the dexterity of the human hand. I can imagine a sculptor imagining a shape in a block of marble and then carving it. It's hard to imagine you looking at that piece of paper in the beginning and imagining the shape you would create. I can only attribute that to your prodigious experience.

2 weeks or so between my other projects. It was originally based on another piece Which I had worked on over the years, but It started to get too different from the original idea that I decided to make it into entirely different character. The main folding structure is better to plan ahead to make it more efficient, but the details are often better to make with freestyling.

Usually I do these on the first try without practice, but with this one I chose wrong paper and failed to fold it on first attempt. In the planning process I might also fold the figure several times to develop the right structure and folds for it. So that way I also get some experience on how to fold the basic structure for it, but when I use the final paper and fold it completely, I only do it once.
