I know I'm 2 years late to the party lol. This was so satisfying to watch. This was the exact video I was looking for. I have both the texture paste and mod podge! You saved me some $$$ because I was seriously considering ordering some foiling products for my stencils! Thank you so much for this video ♥️

Hi, let me just say tfs, I have tried diff mediums as well, after seeing your video. I even tried modeling paste, and was the best, better than the structure paste! 😮 I took my items out of my Amazon cart!!! 😆 Also I put it through my reg laminator. Ty, ty, ty.

Wow, this will be a money saver too. Mod Podge (or crea podge) will be my next try. :) I tried it with my D.I.Y spray glue I made as a pixie spray replacement and that one worked very nice too. Now when I spray my stencils I just place a piece of card stock under it so then I will have a foil version too. I made the spray paint with 1 part Aleene's tack-it over and over - 1 part water, though I think 2 parts water might work too.

Thanks, Nancy! I think the Heidi Swapp product just melted too much and smeared all over. Seemed like the consistency of the product + heat level just do not work together. Maybe it would work better if it was used with a foam applicator to a rubber stamp, stamped onto cardstock and then foiled... that way it’s a much thinner application, and less chance of running when heated and melted. Perhaps another demo? Also, you have just saved me lots of $$. I have three jars of Mod Podge, so I’m totally going to use those up!

Thank you so much for this video! I tried the Mod Podge version tonight, and let it completely dry like you said, and Perfection! Couldn't believe it worked for me. I used a foam paint brush to apply the Mod Podge and a Heidi Swapp screen, which has a light adhesive on the back. Worked like a charm! Opens up a whole new world for more uses for my Minc and foil. I may try Tsukineko Glue Pad to try with my stamps and see how that turns out. Versamark did not work, but I wonder if the sticky embossing powder would? May try both.

Hey there, Nancy!!! I’m a new subscriber and it was a happy accident that I found you. My first video that I watched was the one that you did where your Nuvo Mousses {or is it MICE, 😂}...I hope you can appreciate this story. So I’m bebopping along to to your video and I’m finding myself feeling protective of Nuvo and slightly annoyed at you {and please before you even think it, I already realize how irrational that is and that I should seriously call and make an appointment with a shrink!!}, but about as fast as that thought came into my head, another pushed it out and then it was dawning on me that you were making this video FOR people like EXACTLY ME!!! I’m fairly new to this side of the stamping and paper crafting world {REALLY long story short, I was a Stampin’ UP! Demonstrator for 10 years and had NO idea this parallel universe of a stamping world existed}. So while I’m very seasoned in stamping and many of the techniques that go along with paper crafting in general, I’m learning about all the products available out there and where they all sit, if you will, on the totem pole. To wrap up, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for your videos. You are looking out for those of us who don’t have a money tree on our apartment patios {my hubby and I can’t even afford to live in a house, we rent an apartment 😢}, so videos that you do are INVALUABLE!! I must go now, I have many of your past videos to BINGE WATCH!!! Forget Netflix...I’m watching Nancy Stamps!!!

I am trying to use my own paint/ink which has metallic particles. I couldn't find that color in any foil available. Is it even possible to like have top layer and you paint it with your own paint then the bottom "release layer" painted on the dried up paint?

  • @NancyStamps

the problem with paint and foiling is that the paint could reactive and the foil will stick to it, you can try colored cardstock and then use the paint? Just try to experiment with it? We have a new foiling company now with a nice selection of foils: www.hhsignsupply.com/productcart/pc/Textile-Foils-c853.htm?idaffiliate=154

Great Video. I am so glad it worked because I have the Modge Podge and the Ranger Texture stuff..But can you tell me, did you stick your entire stencil down with some of that removable spray adhesive or did you just tape it down on the side with painters tape and use a craft knife??? I am new at this foiling thing but I sure love the look of it. I have everything I need, EXCEPT, I would love to get that star stencil! Very Pretty! Sorry to keep asking, but do you know if there is anyway to foil with embossing folders? Thank you. Thumbs UP!

You can use double sided tape with die cuts, or modge pod. Minc machine uses heat to activate the glue. You can also use a glue like Zig that dries tacky.

Great comparison! I honestly think the Minc reactive paint would have been better than it was if you had both 1. applied a thin coat, and 2. let it dry completely before running it through your machine. I don't know what you used to apply each medium, so it's hard to say for sure if you could have done better. For the paint, I would have used something like a makeup wedge to apply it through the stencil. And yes, it does have to be completely dry, or it will seep when you put it through the Minc. Hope you didn't ruin your carrier sheet. I certainly wasn't expecting those results from the Mod Podge or Texture Paste. I wonder how gloss gel medium would work, since it's a lot like the gloss Texture Paste? I may have to try that. Thank you for showing these products! :)
