Foggy Mountain Special - Jake Workman & Ron Block
Музыка
It's hard to get much better than Jake Workman playing a 1938 Martin D-28 & Ron Block playing a 1938 Martin D-18. Both guitars belong to Ron and it was great to hear them side by side by two of my favorite players.
All the best and keep rollin,
RC

@@81crowe Yes, Please!
These two guys can really put out some good instrumental talent. They're among the top dogs when it comes to making the hair stand up on end.
Mighty fine boys
Wow! Very nice!!!#
Man, those guitars sound sweet. Pure Martin
My nod goes to the rosewood to my ear
Great stuff for a Monday morning! Thanks Jake, Ron, and Russ!
Thank you for putting the music out there love the jam style music thanks will be sharing
Need more videos like this. 😎🤟
You guys go, go man. Nice playing.
I remember when i stayed with RC Snoddy, he told me an old story of when he dropped in to see George Gruhn once, he had a banjo he wanted $10,000 for, Randy said well I don't have that kind of money George, George said well do you have any D18's/D28's, I sure do Sir, George said well take the banjo and when you get back to Costa Mesa start sending them and when you have sent enough I'll let you know. Randy said he used to have them stacked to the ceiling :) He was guitar man first and foremost, a banjo to him was just a way to make a little money.
Man those guitars sounded amazing and thanks for doing that nice toon
The earliest Marin I have played was a 56 D-28 when I was in New York a few years ago. Must be so nice to have your hands on a pair of 38's! Although you fella's would make pretty well anything sound good. Keep'em comin' Russ!
I was hoping to hear Russ on the five with that one. Excellent pickin from Jake and Ron. Keep posting Russ. I love it!
Great pickin, I wouldn't expect any less. I have a D-28 thats only two years old and it sound great to me. I have only had mahogany till now.
Russ you bout pick banjer good as you film 🤣 I’m teasing brother!! Great content! My favorite KZread account by far!!!!!
Carson, Workman and Block - Accountants?
Needs more banjo, Ron is one of my favorite guitar players though so it.s still awesome.
Well, that was over way too soon!
Well, that's just dandy, if you like that sort of thing, of course. ;-)
Two top musicians with different styles. Jake may be faster but I find Ron's playing smoother and more fluid in his approach.
I looked, but most of those notes didn’t come on my guitar! 😎
Are both of those guitars Ron's?

yes they are
Nice one! I was familiar with Ron Block mostly from his work playing banjo with Alison Krauss and Union Station, but he's obviously no slouch as a guitarist, either. Was this recorded recently, or is it one from the video vaults?

I believe it was just recorded around the 1st of July. Russ can correct me if I'm wrong.
I ain't gonna lie... I was a little disappointed Ron wasn't playing the 5!!!
