Holy crap, I’ve literally been browsing google and KZread trying to get a direct answer for recording on line and instrument for almost an hour lol THANK YOU!
You have some of the best videos I've ever seen. I love how you explain both the pros and the cons so well on so many of your reviews. Instead of down talking or up playing products, you just explain what they do and don't do and what their price point is. One of the best channels for this stuff on KZread.
Geez, Mike! That was the softest and most unexpectedly heartfelt quiet “Thank you” right there in the intro. You’re a voice master.
I have not watched other videos on this channel but I've watched other Scarlett tutorial videos and I must say this is the best. no big words no deep technical dives plain understandable. It's so much so I'm not even taking notes. It's all in my head. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this. This is the only video I've seen that really takes the time to explain what this product is. Most videos try to explain how it works and how to use it asuming that you already know everything about recording or sound editing. So, thank you, truly, I really didn't know much about these topics and you've helped me a lot!
The way you explained things, omg so clear and concise, you just earned a new subscriber! 👍
Hey Mike! I want to thank you for taking time out of your days to put up these videos. For the past 3 months, I've been watching yours & other VA's videos & participating in webinars, because I wanted to start off putting my professional foot forward. After watching this video, I found this interface in a nice bundle on Amazon. It came with a pretty decent condenser mic, and everything a beginner needs to start recording. After watching your soundproofing vids and listening to all your advice, I just landed my very first VO job (which was also my first self-produced audition) and got raves about my audition. I'm a vocalist and actor, so doing audio editing is a whole new world for me. I'm so grateful for you and other experienced VA's who are out there, giving great advice on how to be successful in this business. 🙂

Mike! Thank you so much for this! I am just starting out building my home studio and this really helped me! Can't wait to watch all your stuff! :)
Mike! This is easily the greatest explanation of the product I’ve come across! I literally have the same set up and this helped tremendously. Thanks for being so thorough and comprehensive 🤙
Mike you flipping rock! Thank you for breaking stuff down so rookies and non tech newbies like me can understand .Grateful for you !
This was great! I have owned one of these for 6 months and there was stuff that I just learned about this thing today. Thanks Mike.
Thank you so much Mike, this has been the best explanation I have seen, this was exactly the information I was looking for.
Thank you for the excellent explanation. Very few videos on KZread actually explain it. They just tell you how to set it up and what the features do.
wow - I could listen to you all day!! Thanks for going step by step with the focusrite!
Great video! Love your channel! You have helped me a great deal in understanding the basics of audio equipment and their applications. Keep up the great work!
Just got one on Saturday, and an at2035 turning up Thursday so this will be awesome :) Thanks for having all these videos to help people like myself get up and going
First video I've found that explains everything in detail for someone new to recording. Thank you for this!
Great explainer video. I'm new to audio interfaces and I just bought this particular one, so this is extremely helpful. Thank you.
Brilliant! Very easy to follow - I wish others would explain recording jargon like you. Thanks!
Thanks Mike! You´re helping me with my booth stuff, and also I´m learning english with you!
I just set up a recording studio for music, and this video was so helpful! Thanks!
Wow this is amazing! Im a newbie and I got your words and explanation. Thank you very much sir!
Thank you for your clear explanation of the interface. I have a much better understanding of what I need to get started in voice over.
Thank for for the vid. I ordered the Behringer but found out it's back ordered until Sept. Dude, it's June. The rep said Focusrite is better and I came straight here to find what I could about it. Thanks again
FINALLY!!!! Thanks to your information i figured out my latency issues. I'm trying to make my own home studio, and i was experiencing Latency in my recording. (very frustrating). After about, 2 days of solid downloading drivers and optimizing my Hardware, My issue, was this; I was trying to use Direct monitoring, but i still was getting delay. This was because My Computer was listening to my recording device, (Condenser mic, connected to my Scarlett Solo) I disabled listening to this Device, I turned up my gain, (because i actually wasn't able to hear myself through the Scarlett Solo) I turned on Direct monitoring, and now i have clean audio with 0ms delay. Thank you.
This is just what I’ve been looking for! Great video and explanation... I’ll be off to the races soon! Thank you!
Thank you for this great video Mike!!! Your video convinced me to buy a Scarlett 2i2! and so far I LOVE it.. my Behringer Xenyx 802 mixer had one mic pre amp completely unusable and the 2nd was failing.. so it was time for an upgrade.
Fantastic video. Concise, informative, and direct. Congrats sir.
I'm glad I read the comments for that product; a lot of people had problems with the drivers.
I am so hoping that you will try and impartially review the ISOVOX2. Your review would put the nail in the coffin, wether to buy it or not. Love the videos Mike!
This was so helpful, and your way of explaining is very kind and professional. Thank you. :)
That was awesome. Thank you. Can’t wait to start recording some music!
Hi Mike, thank you so much, I enjoyed watching and learning !!! awesome
You're so good at explaining things!
Thank you so much for making this.
Very nice video! I just bought it from amazon and received no manual with it, but luckily there are videos like yours that explain it well! Along with my new supercardioïd microphones, I'm all set for yt videos without having a mic in front of my face
you explain really well I would have used your link but I live in a diff country ! TQ very much
This was really helpful for a Newbie. I have the Scarlett Solo, but it's almost the same.
I use this and love it . Good video
You make my brain hurt a little less. thanks mike
thank you for this super detailed video! love the interface! :)
You explain things so, so well. Thank you!
Thank you for making this video. It helped me out a lot.
Yes, it the headphone impedance that prevents you from turning your vol button down. I tried my bose Q35 headphones by putting the knob around the 12:00 o'clock position, the volume is loud enough.
You could make a cable with an inline switch to mute the monitors to help with the volume situation
very understandable and the only proper review of this. thank you, subscribed
I have the Solo version and it has 1 monitor knob which also controls the headphones as well as the monitors at the same time.
Wow, close to the gain I'm using on my Scarlett solo with the same mic.
This video is excellent! It explains things clearly and easily!
Thanks so much mike.... this worked for me
Amazing video, Helpful I should say!
Thanks Mike. You have a great way of explaining - making complicated things understandable.

Those who have ears to hear let them hear In this comment section there is probably one lost sheep that needs to be found there is this whole in your heart you tried many times and many things and many ways to fill it but you couldn’t and it kept getting bigger you would be around multiple people and still feel lonely but let me tell you JESUS is the one who can fill that whole in your heart JESUS is that missing piece you’ve been looking for that peace that’s never ending that true love and joy and happiness it’s in JESUS not if this world but if the kingdom of heaven and if you want to accept him in your heart all you have to do is believe in the gospel A-admit that you’re a sinner and that you need forgiveness, B-Believe that JESUS CHRIST died for your sins and rose again, and C-Confess your faith in JESUS CHRIST and his lordship over your life and you will be saved and this amazing feeling is not a drug it won’t last a couple hours but forever eternally bc it is not of this world but of GOD who sits on the throne of heaven forever and ever HALLELUJAH ✝️
Great video! Thanks so much.
Extremely helpful. Thank you very much.

SO informative, thank you!
Great video as always
Excellent video sir. Well thought out & easy on the ears. I'm assuming you've been getting nice voice-over gigs. At least I hope so. Fantastic "timbre" & resonance in your speaking voice. I often have many clients, when I'm explaining exactly what/how you've explained in this video, let's say an "over-the-phone" scenario... I explain to them how to set up monitors on the interface. More often than not I get the "monitor?" question. I have to be specific & say, your home-studio "speaker" monitors, not video. 😉 Wondered if you've ever had those as well. I'm assuming with the video, it's fairly straight forward as to which "monitors" you're referring to. Hey, I LOVE your taste in microphones as well. I'm use various RODE mics too for certain projects & discovered the RODE NT-1000 to be the most versatile mic I've ever used for under $500.00... 😉 Nonetheless, I ramble far too much. Thank you for sharing this video with us. Extremely informative & easy on the ears! 😉 💜 🍀 👻 🎶
u help me so much thank you bro great video
if you use a monitor control such as Mackie big knob it might be easier to deal with the monitor lack of mute
Very detailed introduction,thank you :D
Big fan of this device. Though i find I have to boost it in post. This is mainly being due to my gain control, I found I was clipping a lot so found it easier just to boost in post. Though a positive here is that there is literally no noise floor on this device. It's silent. So once boosted it still sounds good! I had to resort to this following my internal sound card not playing ball with AMD mobo's which was a bit of a pain considering I loved the warmth the internal sound card gave off. Great video as always!
very valuable information! good video! the issue about the monitor and phone volume knobs, I it disapears if there's a mixer in front of the interface, and you have all the versatility a mixer provides, like putting a hole band before it. That's something I want to do some day when I get money to buy a mixer. :D Regards
I'm just here to say thanks Mike. Thanks Mike!
You're great to explain!!!
You are very welcome Mike.
Very useful. Thanks!
I needed to know about the headphone output and you answered my question perfectly thank you. I have Sennheiser 650's so a big no on this unit for me.
I am probs gonna get the Komplete Audio 1 or 2. *Yes,* I have looked at Focusrite’s Solo/2i2.
Something I wish the Scarlett 2i2 had was a mix knob, so you could balance the direct monitor feedback with the audio coming from the computer. As is the direct monitor is much quieter than the computer sound.
Finally found what I want to know. The on/off direct monitor function.
I'm using the Focusrite Solo with a Rode Nt2a. Really liking the results.
Thank you! You’re awesome.
I just replaced my 2i2 2nd Gen today, after nearly 4 years (I actually bought mine a couple of months after you uploaded this video) because it started to malfunction. I now own the Solo 3rd Gen.
Loved this video, thank you!
I own that microphone. It's amazing! I do all my voiceovers in Spanish with the NT1
Wow thanks bro great info !!!
dawg u killed this review great work
Great vid Mike!
this was v v helpful thank u thank u
I have the (old?) solo and use it with FCPX (mic) and garageband(guitar) I noticed that the latency became worse when I plugged it into a USB hub and plugging it into the computer directly lowered it but using the direct monitor still seems to be the right way to go.
great video
How can you dislike this man? Booth is the best
dude this is awesome even on the 3rd gen scarlett
I loved this, this was awesome thank you! One last question- I know this would come down to preference, but do you want the direct monitor on or off?
Went from a Line6 Ux2, ended up becoming a paperweight within 6 months. This interface however, far superior in every way and far less hassle. It is rather sensitive to voltage fluctuations in your USB ports, so careful there. Gain is a little low for dynamic microphones, but overall top quality for what I paid.
Great overview!
This video helped a lot! Dual pc stream setup here I come!
Mike, the best teacher
Such a nice content.
this helped so much
You're the man! Thank you sir!
Nice, u explaining it best
That was one great video! I have the first gen Scarlett 2i2, and love how easy it is to operate. I did, however, have to learn the difference between headphone volume and the input levels...ha ha ha...amateur mistake. Thanks for the explanation about “Line” vs “Inst.” I did not know that 48V Phantom Power was not delivered through the 1/4-inch (guitar) inputs. I will definitely Subscribe after I write this, so I can’t look to see if you’ve already covered the “CloudLifter” series of inline mic activators. I use an AEA R84 passive ribbon mic with the CloudLifter CL-1 with GREAT results. Before, I had to turn up the gain for this wonderful mic so much that hiss was introduced into my final sound. Because the CloudLifter provides an additional 20 to 25dB of ultra-clean JFET gain, I can now turn the input levels on my PreSonus Studio Channel and my Scarlett 2i2 way down-zero perceptible hiss now. I am about to order the AEA N22 active ribbon mic to record guitar (both electric and acoustic). While I don’t do voiceovers, your explanations are very helpful to me...thanks again!
Mike, this might be something small, but I've noticed that you don't say any "um's" when you are talking. Very good. Makes you sound much better. I'm going to work on this for myself as well.
Wow so helpful!
