I don't think these are meant to be used as a single interface. Im sure these are just to extend the inputs and outputs of an existing soundcard.

In this embodiment, this unit is only a microphone and instrument preamplifier. For being 8 channels, it is good and affordable.

i have the exact same model as you, this is not a sound card or an audio interface, this is used as an expantion of inputs to an audio interface that works with adat (optical) inputs/outputs, no software needed or instalation disk as this is a piece of analog equipment

there is no adat option in this, you can only use as an 8 channel analog mic preamp for any usb audio interface via a line input.

Focusrite tech support is very responsive. Have you tried using a regular audio cable whether mono or trs from the outputs to another device that accepts line level inputs? Then you can test a mic connected to the input of this Focusrite unit and how it processes the mic signal into the device you chain down stream from it

All you need is a cheap audio interface with ADAT. That Octopre is great. Also, you can sell it if you don’t need that much I/O.

I just got my hands of one of these thats missing the digital card just like yours. And while unfortunately it looks like the card will be impossible to find, i’m thinking about getting a tascam us16x08 because it has 8 line level inputs and just routing my octopre to those to be able to give them a use. Have you come up with anything else to do with yours?

No my friend. It has just found a place there in the corner, without getting the chance of being used just once from me.
