So THATS what's already missing on my XR5! I was wondering what was deleted? The butcher who worked on the car before just put a hardware store bung on it... (in it?)

Hi Great video. Would it be possible for a high pitched noise created by the symposer if there is a boost leak ? I seem to get the symposer making the correct noise but then is replaced by the high pitched noise and the symposer sound stops.

This is with increased speed. Car doesn’t lose power in any way at all and boost seems to be fine and working as it should. Car is stock

yes, usually boost leaks sound like a high pitched squeal. To confirm it is indeed the symposer remove it then remove the screws from it and split open - you'll see if its torn

so will this effect the engine over a long period of time ??

Symposer delete removes the symposer which is a common boost leak spot. If engine has a boost leak it will lack in performance and over fuel. Removing the symposer has no effect on the way the engine operates as it is unaware of the change.

@@OEMDeniedPerformance could the symposer leak lead to overfueling and under performing?

  • @OEMDeniedPerformance

@@damo8754 yes as its a boost leak so the ECU is reading air being drawn into the turbo via the MAF then some of it is escaping before entering the engine so engine will be running rich, throttle response will suffer and performance will lack due to the leak as its wasted energy

see no reason why not but they are usually removed due to being a common spot for a failure and a boost leak. Ford switched to using the stereo on the later Focus ST/RS and have a blanking plate where the symposer originally was
