The most information so far on ST awd conversion. Very well done 👍🏻
Finally a video showing how to convert fwd to 4wd. I want to do this in future with the Ford Focus st estate 2018
Awesome job done. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge, not everyone does that and I think it's very nice of you. You are a real car guy👍 I am planing to forge my engine and awd swap my ST with a cheap v50. I hope i can ask you a couple of questions when the time comes. Thank you again, you are a great inspiration to me.
Excellent work! You have the perfect ST now!
Unreal engineering 💪🏼
Fantastic work! Hope it's still going strong
Just found this video.. excellent job my friend, informative and helpful. Cheers, Alex.
Wow excellent job man. Thanks for sharing it with us. I have my work cut out for me.
Great job!!! I'll really like to make the same to my ST.
Respect fella! Some serious re-engineering done. 👌
Very impressive work.. just watched this on FYDs channel..

Done what Ford should have done from factory. Well done 🤝
Genius 💪😎absolutely amazing job
Awesome! I'm currently planning out a awd swap on a mk7 fiesta st using the rear suspension / subframe and diff from a ford ecosport and i'm looking if the 2.3 out of a focus rs will fit, which it seems it will. It's going to probably be a gigantic project but your car has definitely been a huge inspiration
Brilliant mate! Well done, I hear that the focus rs mk2 has all the bolt holes in place for a 4wd conversion all that’s needed are the kuga parts

Would love to do same to my st you done an amazing job on yours pal.
Ye man love this video, iv got an awd v50 t5 but its auto and iv been debating whether to convert it to manual wich is doable but im more into the idea of a awd focus st estate so thinking i might just do that
I've seen v50 gearbox and rear axle conversions. Would you say the Kuga rear can handle more power?
I know it might be a silly question but can you do this to a 1.8tdci mk2
Next do it for rs mk2 !!!!! It would be so sick man!
After 2 years of driving it, would you say it's a worthwhile project? Do you think an auto box from s60r, the 6 speed one would work?
That's insane bro 2 questions tho: 1. Can I do it with 2.0 Duratec as well? 2. How much did it cost you?
Was the s60r gearbox that you purchased Manual ?
Did you reuse the FWD down pipe or had to get different one?
So would this job be easier on an RS mk2? rather than the ST? because you could use the original RS trans ?
Hey, mate Did you find an alternative solution to raising the engine by 10mm ?
Hello I got a questions how did you wire the haldex controller? Greetings sil willemsen
Where did you get the S60 AWD gearbox from?
Hey ... Which model model do you have the drives from ???
I wish we got that generation in the USA
isn`t faster way was to buy v50 awd t5? and put it inside st?
love it, I hope to do the same. Probably hit you up for some info when the time arrives???
How much does it cost ?
is it fulltime awd or just a normal 4wd
One thing bothers me is the lack of an LSD in the rear. I searched far and wide for one for the Kuga, couldn't find any, did you solve this issue? I might have missed it in the video.
@centsam5947
5 жыл бұрын
i cant see any need for an LSD, even in the rain you get 0 Slip even from a launch, unless you drop the clutch and turn in you wont have an issue with traction, but yes you can stick an s60r lsd in if you really want
How long did it take you?
Do you have a link to a build thread
What extra wiring is needed to do this conversion. Is it running ST ecu or volvo
@centsam5947
5 жыл бұрын
nothing really, the wires are already in the car, theres a plug under the rear driver seat taped up
Is that rear sub-frame from the Kuga just a bolt in fit? Or did you have to drill your own mounting points? BTW, I think this is one of the coolest diy 4WD conversions I've ever come across on KZread. Well done mate... I'll definitely drink a Bells on this build!

@@TheNonganario Its from 2005 to 2012, but it needs to be from a 2.5 awd, in the uk theres only about 60 of them ever made
Anybody try this with mk3? I only knew it is possible but fuel tanks and rear structure make it hard at this time.

Yes should work. I am planing on v50 awd swap my st
And how is it after 3 years of use?
Hey mate just wondering does the subframe have to specifically be a mk1 kuga could it be a mk2 kuga as well or nah?
@centsam5947

subframe you need from a v50, you just need the kuga diff. mk1 or mk2 kuga subframes do not fit the st, i have tried them
I'm Very interested in doing this to my ST500. is there much difference between the Kuga MK2 and Mk1 subframes? i can find loads of complete Mk2 ones

Yes, as long as your hammer is big enough.
Just out of interest, why didn't you use a gearbox out of a Kuga 2.5? That's also an M66 Volvo unit, although the gear ratios might be more for a crossover than a sporty car.
@centsam5947

Hey, i could have used the kuga 2.5 gearbox but in the UK theyre very rare and they use the kuga uses the same gear ratios as the s60r :) all M66-C awd petrol gearboxes have the 3.77 final drive

@@centsam5947 I have the kuga rear end and v50 axle. I used the kuga rear AWD box and v50 axle but with RS mk2 parts also to make rear end. I then stopped trying to get fuel tank and angle gear. impossible to get. Issue I faced with back are the fuel 2 sides of tank, fuel gauge, and headlight level. Looking at RS mk3 info they have 2 pumps one to get fuel from the other side to main side and another pump to injectors. To fix that could try doing same thing but external to push fuel to main side and keep the original Mountune pump. There is also of RS stuff that wish to keep like LSD, but know you can get a LSD for a v50 AWD from quife. Is the casing the same on m66 AWD and m66 fwd boxes? I mean the opening on the gearbox output to angle gear. That way keep the rs gearbox just replace the LSD for AWD LSD.

@@nazsky786 i just uesd the v50 fuel pump 2:11 which has a pipe that pulls the fuel from one side to the other, then just used a fuel pressure regulator to regulate the flow, an rs mk2 gearbox you could just stick a new awd diff in and replace the driveshaft seal with an awd one and yes it would work, but not an st box st box has a different case
